CANTON Vento 820.2- Great speakers for $1499, but you can get them from Accessories4less for a lot less then $1000, made in France, not China. I own a pair in cherry and they sound awesome- they look beautiful as well.

I am familiar with many of the speakers in the comments and yet turned to Goldenear for my final purchases. I haven't had any regret having started with their AON 2 and 3's. For my use, outstanding.

Where is the love for the old reliable ?

Wow... very surprised this list did not include speakers from what I consider the reliable brands?
By reliable I mean, these companies always deliver the best sound for their respective price category.
And by all means... heard about half on the original list... and all of them were nice.
I know this post dates back to 2018, and as always this is one of the most disputed subjects.
And WE are ALL the WINNERS for it, in that manufactures are always striving to be the best bang for the buck.

But how can you leave out the following

B&W 606 - got a $800 pair for my office they may never leave. I still own my 805s from 2000 for my audio room.

NHT C-3 - $400 ea, bigger brother to my golden standard for audiophile value the (NHT super One,which are UNDER $300/pair!)

PSB alpha - I had a pair (gave them to my daughter) from 1990s. Usually around $500/pair and crazy good sound.

fun topic

I'm going to redo this list promptly... Thank you for flagging this and for the suggestions. All such lists going forward will be made with member input. I'm on vacation next week, so it might not be updated before the month is out.
