X3400 which is last year's model is on sale at $499 at Safe and Sound HQ. Free shipping and no sales tax. And full factory warranty.

Are there enough changes between 3400 to 3500 to pick that?

this has been covered ad nauseum many times. If you buy from an unauthorized dealer, you do NOT get a Denon Factory warranty.

I'd heed that warning, as good as these receivers are they sometimes do have issues.

Thanks for posting, I haven't seen that, I called and NE said 3 year warranty as they list in the specs section. I wonder how they get 100 units ( I asked how many in stock) not being an authorized dealer? but I know any unit can be hit or miss and probably not worth the gamble although I have had 4 receivers and an amp and still do and only one unit crapped out well past warranty.

Yeah, NE lied over the phone and on the post, called Denon and they gave me this link, https://usa.denon.com/us/wheretobuy/...DEALER_LOCATOR

so a NE purchase would not be covered. The company selling through NE is Game liquidations and they are not a dealer either. How did they get the receivers I'd like to know.

Deal from Another dealer.

Please comment if this dealer is trust worthy.

Another option is to ask Best Buy to match the prices from Newegg it another online dealer. They do do that. Please report back is that worked.

Best buy is an authorized Denon dealer.

BB would not match, said NE is not the real seller, game liquidations is. Too much of a risk for me at $1500 for the 6500H

Buy from an authorized seller, and use credit card price protection to get the difference.

$499 for x3400 is a great price from a Denon authorized dealer with full 3 year warranty.

Does anyone know if x3400 has any problems compared to x3500? The specs are the same except for the phono cartridge option that is not in 3400.

Denon 4500 is $849 again at Fry’s this week with promo code. They are an authorized dealer. They also sometimes have an extra 10% or 20% off if you are one of the first 20 customers for the day (have to ask for code when you enter).

I can’t speak about the 3400 vs 3500. However, I’ve owned both the 4400 and 4500 and, despite virtually identical specs, 4500 sounded better, worked more seamlessly with my equipment and just less finicky overall. I’d go for the 3500 even if it was a little more expensive.

Do they ever have this price and have it available to ship? Seems like every time I try to take advantage they only allow in-store pickup, and we don't have a Fry within reasonable driving distance.

Seems like it (assuming you have a daily/weekly email code [not the 10-20% in store code]). My local store as well as the store in California (furthest store from me) both seemed to allow shipping it to me @ $850+tax.

Thanks for the reply. Went back and not sure what changed but it definitely let me ship it this time, so order has been placed.

Nice, hope you enjoy it!

Planning on going to Frys tomorrow myself (definitely don't have the budget for an X4500, though ).

Are people sure of this price? Nearest store to me in Indiana is a 4 hour drive -- and when I called they said it was $1,599.

Well, about an hour after I placed the order I got a call telling me they only had open box models available and would gladly cut me a deal on one of those. So not sure if it was an intentional bait and switch or just poor inventory management.

As far as the price vs. what the store said, this was an e-mail code promotion. You might have had to mention that or order it online with the code and set for in-store pickup.

They're available again at Newegg. I just ordered. I had hoped to get one from Fry's to get the warranty -- but that deal no longer existed.
