HOLY CRAP! This is a SMOKING DEAL if This factory refurbished unit is guaranteed to perform the same as a new AVR-X6500H and includes a one-year parts and labor warranty that’s honored at any Denon authorized service center. You get a 7.2 channel AV receiver that offers 80 W per channel output at 0.08% THD.

How they can sell the 1500 for $250 that will perform as well as the $2200 6500 remains to be seen, but if so, WOW!
:-)

My Denon app had an update today with the following note:

•Support for new 2019 model (AVR-X2600H, X1600H, S950H, S750H, S650H)

I am guessing they are getting ready for the 2019 model to come out (X1600h) and want to get rid of the old refurbs

I just grabbed one as it's juist what ive been looking for but couldn't justify the big price tag. but this fits right into my budget. I'll update when it arrives and I start it up . Thanks for the heads up "imagic" and AVS forum notifications .

Yes, UB5 should be fine.

What negative points are for UB5:

1. NOMINAL IMPEDANCE = 4 Ω
2. SENSITIVITY = 85 dB @ 2.83v/1m

The impedance is low (you should search for 8 Ω speakers) but it's ok - remember that you should NOT change the impedance in the AVR setup menu to 4 Ω - keep it at 8 Ω (default value on Denon's) even if you have 4 Ω speakers!

The sensitivity is also on the low side, you may want to search for speakers that approach the 90 dB sensitivity.

So, what this means for AVR-X1500H + UB5 setup? It means that the AVR will run hotter and with the Main Volume at a higher level than with 8 Ω and higher sensitivity speakers.

My setup:
Spoiler!

this would be great for like secondary rooms/bedrooms/etc. that can only house 5+overhead channels

to the edge of eternity and depth of infinity, stupidity knows no bound.

Yes! Thanks to the forum for posting. It's perfect for what I need for my bedroom. Only want to run 5.1 but now I can use it for 5.1 for now then upgrade front channels later to upfiring for Atmos in the master. As far as I want to go in there. Hopefully it supports that compared to a dedicated pair of Atmos speakers but I'll deal with it either way. Hopefully OP could explain if it does support that or not.

Yes, AVR-X1500H supports Dolby Atmos Enabled speakers, either front Dolby Atmos Enabled or surround Dolby Atmos Enabled speakers.
