There are improvements, including HDMI 2.1 related capabilities and increased processing power that has tangible benefits for image quality. It also appears to get a tiny bit brighter, and it is possible that screen uniformity has been improved although that is purely anecdotal at this point.

It is a third party website/app matching authorized dealers with buyers. Basically you put in a price of what you want (that basically is your final price you will pay including tax and shipping) and greentoe sends out offers to dealers. If some dealer likes your offer it will be accepted and your credit card will be charged. Other wise they can ignore it or send a counter offer.

I put in an offer of a price I'd be willing to pay. Not a low ball, but lower than what was suggested in the OP. I did receive a good counter offer. If I were really in the market for a new TV I'd probably take the offer. Since it's definitely more of a want than a "need", I'm holding at my offer to see what happens.

I think those are being sold by some questionable "NewEgg" vendors.

According to CNET, burn-in is a risk if you buy an OLED television even the latest models. LG in their marketing materials makes it sound like they are on top of the burn-in issue, but of course the reality is their warranties exclude burn-in as they don't consider that a "manufacturing defect" but a consumer defect. We should not be watching CNN, ESPN, MSNBC, or Fox News or any channel that has static images and there are a lot of them. LG accused me of abusing my 65E7P by watching too much MSNBC even though they could not quantify what too much is. Since all of my televisions are fairly new, I won't be buying a new one any time soon, but I would not buy another LG OLED. For that kind of money, they should stand behind their product and have a much better warranty. And I certainly don't like being lectured by a consumer products company about my tv viewing habits.

The interesting thing is that a local retailer has had a C8 playing 24/7 for a few months now, using the LG demo content exclusively. It has bad burn-in not related to a static image.

Correct, and in this case Game Liquidations is not an LG authorized dealer.

Newegg proper is also no longer an LG authorized dealer, probably due to the constant discounts and UMRP violations.

I got my LG 77" C8P from Greentoe and they were amazing. Came from an authorized LG dealer within a couple days. Delivery guys brought it right to the room and waited for me to inspect it before i signed for it. Got the full LG warranty and receipt form the authorized retailer. Highly recommend!

These comments are making me question my decision to jump on that deal. But I figure as long as it's actually a C9 in the box, any damage or functionality issues can be addressed by warranty claims. It was just too good of a deal to pass up.
