Should have did the $50 for two day shipping lol. But I’m already waaaay over budget. Besides I’ll be working the next week or so anyway. I’m so curious to see what these sound like compared to my ML Motion setup especially the 705’s. Never had a fullish sized tower before so it should be interesting.

As I own LX16s in my secondary room looking forward to your comparison, (obviously not full range though).

Having to resort to adding additional speaker cloth to tone down the treble is not heartening but I'll see what murphy5 has to say as we have the same speakers on our homes for him to compare the treble to.

I have this exact setup. You will be very happy!

Also, just FYI, I found that running them off an amp helped them really come alive. I bought an Outlaw Model 5000 5 channel amp to pair with my Denon x4400h.

Definitely I’ll give you a good assessment. I think they are going to be more similar than I was initially thinking. I read the sound & vision review and saw the measurements on the 707 system. If these measure similar to that system these should be smoother & fuller in the midrange with a bit more forward treble. Sounds similar to the ML system to me. I always tend to think my ML’s sound a bit thin unless the volume is cranked to say -30-25 dB. Just my opinion. Let’s see what these sound like on my marantz... hopefully they run decent. Already switched it to 4 ohm mode.

Awesome! I’m looking forward to them that’s for sure. Seems like it should be a decent upgrade from my LX16’s. If they don’t seem to run great I guess I’ll start looking for an amp to add to the system.

Yes it is. Probably going to be hard pressed to find a better tower for under a grand. That’s why I said screw it. What’s a bit under $400 gonna matter that much in the long run? Then I won’t have to wonder what if later on either. If the 707’s were on a bit better of a sale I probably would have just got them instead. But $1600 for two speakers or $1600 for a full set...I went the full set route for sure.

The 707s were on sale if you changed the 705 "sale" listing URL to pick up the 707 product listing page with the same percent off

I ordered a pair of 707s for $649 each or $1298 shipped and they will be here on Tuesday. That is the cheapest I have ever seen 707s.

I had ordered the 706C a couple days earlier and kept hoping the 707s would drop on price, but they never did.

Then I had an idea. . .

I have been studying and playing with slick deal URLs along with predictive targeted "SEM" sponsored ads I would get for the speakers and what those URLs were for a few months now. At any given point, there is usually 2-3 different URLs with respective percent off pricing to match the targeted ad. At one point, I was able to pull the January sale listing back in April by doing this. I just never pulled the trigger and I really wanted Paradigm Prestige to go on sale (wishful thinking but they have done it a time or two!)

Anyway, that is why when some people click on some links or go directly to Adorama they see full MSRP vs. the sale price, while others will see the sale price listing with a Slick Deals link, etc.

Already switched it to 4 ohm mode.
Well I finally got them all moved in & audyssey calibrated. First off these things are ginormous compared to the LX16’s! I look at my ML’s like they are satellites now. Oh the fit & finish look great by the way! Both speakers look great in their own way though.

My receiver set them all up as large & full band. I left them that way for a bit, but ultimately set them all at 80hz & small. First thing I noticed is the fullness of the sound mostly midrange. Definitely not a thin sound. The louder you crank it they just keep going not fazed by volume or distortion at all. And let me tell you these things get loud! Highs are very similar to the ML’s from what I can tell. Very crisp & clear. I can see why some people might want it a little more laid back. I however do not. I spent a good 3 hours listening last night at fairly high volumes-35 -25 dB and my ears are fine with no fatigue. That tells me they are more similar than dissimilar to the LX16’s. They do not seem to make much of a difference to me with or without grills on or off. I’m going mostly positive on these speakers. Although I almost wish I would have just got 4 of the 703’s I think placement would be easier and from what I can tell & not losing a lot of sound quality either. Those 703’s as surrounds are amazing! All the details and effects really pop. Back to placement with my ML’s calibrated the bass was almost over powering. With this setup I can’t get the bass in my room to sound right at the listening position. I know they are in & functioning because if you walk up to one of the subs it’s almost deafening... it seems like adding these speakers created a new null I wasn’t expecting to have. So I’ll have to play with positioning a bit, confident I’ll get it figured out though.

For anyone interested in the Polk LSiM705 speakers check out this Great Found Deal's Thread. I can't believe the price! And free shipping. A real no-brainer for anyone looking for a seriously good speaker at a stupid low price! Read @murphy_5 post just above mine. The low end Polk lineup is kinda weak, but the LSiM series is IMO very good.

So I finally got the bass figured out! Jeez had to completely redo sub crawl on 5 subs! What a pain! Reset the receiver back to factory settings and just started over...after a few Audyssey attempts I only measured the first 4 positions and voila that fixed the issue. Also made sure the LFE & Main were on for the subs, so the receiver would stop setting the mains as full band. Not sure why but that took care of it. Just in case anyone ever has these issues with these speakers.

Now with the crossover set to 80hz and all speakers to small these things are stellar! Hands down best speakers I have ever owned. Amazing what bass will do to the whole sound, gives depth and adds fullness to the whole spectrum. Also as these have been playing for a few days it seems the highs aren’t as bright or overwhelming as earlier. Smoother if you will. I’ve played with full range on the towers as well. I will say when I first plugged them in I was underwhelmed with the bass output for sure. Now after a few days of playing they definitely have some meat there for sure. In a smaller room I could definitely see someone who doesn’t want a sub being optional. One slight complaint I read about said how the mids seemed a little chesty sounding, and on certain tracks I can agree to that. Seems the mid bass may just be a tad too hot on certain material. That being said I would rather have fuller mids than thin mids so I’ve looked past it. Seriously I was regretting getting the 705’s but now that I painstakingly figured out the bass issue I couldn’t be happier! This setup is perfect for my 16’x20’ room. 8.5” ceilings so it’s on the upper end of medium room / or lower end large room. Beautiful, Heavy, Large, Clear, Full, LOUD speakers! An amazing value for what they are asking at the sale price!

The high end on the 530 is really good. The 703 would be a bit better in mids but not too much. Better in lows tho.

If you have a sub the 530 is really capable.

The 704c is an upgrade as it is a 3 way design and has lager low end drivers. Highs tho may be equal.

If the 530's go on sale for $299 a pair that pretty much is a no brainer as you would be happy with it.

Ok so nothing glaring (warranty is good for sure). I don't see many good discounts on the monolith. Seems like you have to jump on them right when they come. I'm usually not that patient to wait once I have the cash ha.

i know the ideal 3.0 setup is all matching but ive been reading the reviews on the center and at $200 seems like i should go for it.
i have a pair of speakers sitting around and want to use this center with them.
some say front three dont need to match, and i sort of agree.
but, panning shot scene in a movie from left to right or vice versa, would that sound distracting if the center is different brand from left and right?

What speakers are they? It is an excellent center and many here on AVS have mismatched L/R and centers with good results.

Would the LSiM 703C be a big improvement on my Polk PSW 10's? Thinking about an upgrade.

Very happy with my Monitor 70's, and my main priority is music. Bright in a good way with tight bass and not fatiguing (my Klipsch RP-160's in the basement are the guilty pleasure for shorter listening sessions).

But to the extent that I watch sports or movies, I feel like the PSW 10 is the weak link in my system: sometimes the dialog in movies could be clearer, and the sound seems thin. Often I set the surround mode to one of the music modes watching TV or playing DVD's/Blu Ray because it relies more heavily on the mains.

Not sure what else would be a better use of my money in the $350 range, i.e. a new receiver. The Denon seems to power the Monitors fine with a sweet volume spot of about 72. My listening room is about 16 by 24, seated about six feet away for HT and usually about 18 at the bar for music.
