Other companies having been selling cheaper online and very reputable. 707 for 550 each, 706 for 350. Just search slick deals website for Polk. Crazy prices for excellent speakers.

I took a look but it would seem those deals (which were exceptional, yes) are all expired.

They usually come back weekly. I think I bought my 707s, 706, 703 and 702 for 2350 or so two years ago. Powered with a good amp and they shine.

Yes I've heard them and they are great speakers.

OK... but there's going to be an end to those sales at some point soon because the just-announced Legend series replaces LSiM, so once whatever is left is gone, it's gone...

I haven't kept too close an eye on Polk, but my impression is that it's one of those brands (see also: Klipsch) where it's always going on sale for half price or less and it's foolish to pay MSRP for them. Do we think this pattern will continue with the Legend series stuff?

It's a good question. Companies with a history of discounting products on a regular basis will likely continue to do so but the question is by how much?

Irrelevant if you can't buy them at discount in the future because the line is being replaced!

Folks can take their chances that there will be a "final blowout sale" of some sort, or grab them now, or skip. But one thing is for sure the recurring sales on this line are going to end because it's the end of the line.

The Slick Deals price ($549 each) still appears to be available but you must go thru their site. I ordered a pair earlier this year for this price and just ordered another pair now...... I know, I have a problem:

Noticed they were back on sale the other day. I hope people didn't buy these models at Amazon or maybe they can cancel their order.

I snagged a 706c, couldn't resist @$349. I was tempted at $530. Looking to audition it against my Infinity RC263 that is still in the return window.

I was waffling for the past few days, even at the $349 price tag, shipped, for the ISiM706c, and have one on the way. I've been using a custom one-off 3-way Selah Audio center that matches my Salk Song Towers very well, but doesn't really timbre match with the 705's. So, it seems I'm now committed to living with a pair of Polk Audio speakers for the next 5+ years. At least that's usually how long I keep any given speaker. The Song Towers are quite something, but then so are the 705's. I can sell the Selah speaker for at least enough to offset the price of the 706 center speaker.

So, now the wait begins. Probably a week+ for it to show up.

Anyone that thinks they can get a better pair of speakers at these prices had better think twice. The 'bang for the buck' is as good as it gets, IMO. And like @imagic said, these deals won't last long.

Yep. Adorama is an authorized Polk dealer and have been having great sales on the LSiM line of speakers the past several months. I had a type-o on the 707 in the post above. It is indeed going for $549/each/shipped.

I hate you guys.

I haven't even set up my 5.2 signature series (S60s S30, S15s, HTS12s) and have already bought the 706c to replace the S30. I hope it blends well with the S60s.

I am agonizing over this deal. I have JBL LS80's and LS Center that I got a couple years ago at a blowout pricing deal and wondering if this would be a significant upgrade. (Pair of 707's and 706 Center) The mahogany JBL's are absolutely gorgeous and the wife loves the look. Hoping this deal expires soon so I can forget about it.

I've never heard those JBLs, but I do have a pair of LSiM705's, and a 706c on the way that should be here in a week. The 705's replaced a pair of very nice Salk Song Towers that I've been enjoying for the past 4-5 years. The 705's simply have more bass than the ST's.

You might be able to find a pair of 705's or 707's to audition locally. They are crazy good, and especially at the current prices, are a no-brainer. The fit and finish is awesome, unlike some of the low end Polks I've looked at. The Mt. Vernon Cherry is beautiful, and I hear the other finish is just as well done.

Those JBL's you have are no slouch, I would think this is more of a sideways move for you. Maybe that compression driver they use might be kind of harsh on music, but for HT applications they are very good from what I've read about them.

Just wanted to share a consumer alert for people. I used the link AVS provided on Amazon to buy the LSI center at discount. The center arrived in a LSI box that looks like its been shipped a dozen times (It didnt even matter that I worked for UPS for 15 years so I know what a bad box looks like, you all could tell). I pulled it out and the rearguard structure behind the ports pulled right out (screw). I got it back in but it easily comes out (wonder how bad the effect is when 200 watts are running through the speaker at heavy load). The entire top of the LSI is scuff and scratched up. The front of the speaker was also scuffed including line of indentation ON the mid woofer woofer (3" long) and a smaller one on the 6.5" speaker. One of the 6.5" speakers had its center bubble punched in (I fixed quickly with that old vacuum method). It was obviously clear the unit was used, all the box and packing was clearly resealed, probably a couple times (reminded me of a demo unit Polk once shipped me to try out). a lot of this damage didnt look like it was from shipping.

I hope you all had better luck then I did, Im pressing the issue with Amazon.

This was replacing my 12 year old Polk CSi5 speaker in my theater. I was hopping to get a little better center clarity with my RTI12's in the front and RTi8's in the rear.

Send that back stat!! You bought new and should get new!

Just got my 703's today from Adorama and they were factory fresh and beautifully perfect..

As already stated, request a return. It is very easy to do online. Select "Defective" as the reason for the return. In the comment box briefly explain that you received a used and damaged loudspeaker. Ask for a replacement or a refund. Amazon will pay for return shipping.

My new center (706c) was sitting on the porch when I got home from a round of golf. It is beautiful, fully worthy of sitting between the 705's. Sounds very good. $349 shipped! What a great price!

You have it upside down.

All five of my LSiM's arrived intact from Adorama and were in the same finish as each other, and even the finish I ordered.

The tweeter is almost at ear level - and that's where I like it!
