Denon 4500 refurbished

I am looking at a Denon 4500 and I found one refurbished with a 3 year warranty no tax or shipping for $999 does this sound like a good deal?

The 2019 X3600H seems to be almost the same and it is priced around the same price and had some at $899 recently. There is no 2019 4000 series and the X3600 had it channels increased to 9, with 2 pre-outs, so it seems to taken place of 4000 series.

I found a place that sold the 4500 new for $1,000 - However they also had the 3500 for $550. The 4500 is better but it wasn't worth 2x the price for me. I ended up getting the 3500 and will upgrade it down the line in a year or so when notable technology changes occur.

depends if you're ok with 7 channels or if you want to pay extra for 9 and the ability to add an external 2 channel amp for 11. right now i have a denon 3400 and 4400. wishing i would have spent the money for 2 4400's so i can run 7.2.4 in my theater room.

I spoke to A4L a few days ago and they said to be getting a shipment of 3600 in soon most likely this or next week. Price should be 699. From what I can tell the 3600 has a few less processing sound related features compared to the 4500 line. Slightly more power which is not going to make a difference and hdcp 2.2. Also it has bass sync which I have no idea if that will make a difference. Otherwise they do the same thing. I have a old x4000 and it sounds great but not the most reliable receiver. I had 3 of the HDMI inputs break and the main ARC out break. Which is why I would also love a 3080 cause yamaha has a better reliability but I expect it wont reach down lower than 1k.

I would be really surprised if they sell the 3600 refurbs for $699. If they do and include a three year warranty Iwould take one of those over a $999 4500 10 out of 10 times...

as an FYI Denon said they wont be upgrading existing models with 2.2 to 2.3 hdcp. That alone made me decide to go with a newer model 3600. Figured its amazon so if its junk Ill just return it and geta yamaha 3080 and call it a day.

i'm currently using a 3600 while i wait for my anthem 1120. i would not call it junk at all. I AM also using external amplification so the built in amps mean nothing to me. I like it as much if not more than the 4500 i sold off.

If you like the 3600 why are you upgrading to a 1120? Thats a huge jump in cost and the 3600 has more modern features. And if your using external amps I bet they will all have more power than what the 1120 can pump out.

Because as much as I like xt32 with the new app. The ARC in Anthem is superior to it in a very noticeable way. And for ME, it is worth the extra money
