Pulled the trigger on the SB-12. Limited space made it the only real choice, plus music is the most important consideration. I’m sure the PB-12 does a nice job as well.

I really was going to wait a while for sub upgrade as I’ve been putting a lot of money out on upgrades recently, but this BF deal is difficult to pass up. Have to go single right now for budget and space reasons. May look to partner it up down the road if/when space and budget allows.

Upgrading from The Speaker Company T1000.

Already bought two SB12-NSD with this great Black Friday deal (maybe early access in EU)! The price was 450€/piece. Excellent sealed subs! Replaced two Klipsch R-112SW ported.

Whats the difference between SB-1000 and the SB12-NSD? What would be best for a small space 11'x10'.

SB12-NSD is the predecessor of the SB2000, so it's better than the SB1000 and now cheaper. SB-12 is bigger, goes deeper a bit and stronger.

SB1000 - 600€
Driver | 12"
Amplifier | 300 watts RMS (720 watts peak)
Freq. Response | 24-260 Hz ±3dB
Dimension | 13.5" (H) 13" (W) 14" (D)
Weight | 27lbs

SB12-NSD - 450€
Driver | 12"
Amplifier | 400 watts RMS (800 watts peak)
Freq. Response | 23-270 Hz ±3dB
Dimension | 14.6" (H) 14.2" (W) 14.2" (D)
Weight | 35lbs

SB2000 - 900€
Driver | 12"
Amplifier | 500 watts RMS (1100 watts peak)
Freq. Response | 19-220 hz ±3 DB
Dimension | 14.6" (H) 14.2" (W) 15.4" (D)
Weight | 34,8lbs

Slightly weaker than the SB2000, but on an extremly low price. I don't know the exact prices in US, but here in EU, I could buy two NSD of the SB2000's price. So it's a BestBuy now, I think. That's why I picked this over SB1000. I used one of this in a small room 13x11 and it was more than great! Now I use 2 of it in a bigger room 13x17.

If you watch movies loud, then maybe the PB12 is better. More "shake on the couch" , but not as accurate.
If you watch movies on moderate / low volume and/or watch concert movies, listening music, then the SB12 is better. Less shake on the couch, (but still have it), but more tight and more accurate (more details).

Where did you get them? That is, SVS does not seem to ship to Europe.

Why? Maybe the US SVS www.svsound.com not, but

Germany www.sv-sound.de
Hungary www.svsound.hu

SVS Germany did not ship to Hungary, but the Hungarian price was way higher (55€/piece), so I ordered from a shop in Germany (exactly from here). Ordered them on 22. October.

A PB12 NSD should outmuscle a VTF-2. Would probably be more comparable to a VTF 3.

Will there be any black friday deals in the outlet store on PB-1000's? Am I better off getting an SB12 vs PB1000, assuming same price. What prices can be expected in outlet on blackfriday?

I’m sure its not a night and day difference, but an NSD has a just a little more power and uses a slightly more efficient amp, on paper the NSD should have a little more juice. You do have the advantage of variable tuning with a VTF2 though.

Would really be interested in your comparison between the SVS and the TSC T1000, which I also own...have always really loved the TSC products, but now about 10 years old and maybe time to start looking at upgrades.

That TSC company made some great stuff for a very short period of time.

Any idea how long this sale will last? I wonder if I should buy one while waiting for a PB1000? I'd rather wait, but I don't want Cybermonday to get over with and not have either. Been waiting since July for SVS Blackfriday deals.

Also I think it was a President's day sale last year, these subs were $349.

The SPL 120 is quite good, but the PB12-NSD goes deeper and a bit stronger (24 Hz vs 18 Hz and 300/600 vs 400/800).

I looked at the Klipsch subwoofers but after reading the customer reviews about them failing I kept looking and found the SVS ones with their 5 year parts and labor warranty and rave reviews. The SVS 12" SB-1000 is 13 inches square as compared to the Klipsch R-112 12" subwoofer that is considerably larger at 17.38" H x 15.5" W x 18.25" D.

Better reviews, longer warranty, much smaller size, and its being available in a piano black finish to match my NHT floor speakers, made the decision to go with SVS a very easy one to make. My SB-1000 arrives on Monday.

FYI: I have 2x Klipsch R-112SW ported and 2x SVS SB12-NSD sealed. The NSD has more power than the SB1000. But those are sealed while the Klipsch is ported. And beacuse of this, it has much more output than the SB12-NSD. The SB1000 in not in the same league, as the R-112SW...

What would pair well with Q Acoustics 3010is? Im in a small room 11'x10' mostly for movies and games not at high volume (NYC apt). I currently have Take Classic 5.1 so this is a big upgrade.
I was thinking the SB1000 would be a nice choice but if I can save...

SB12-NSD and SB1000 both good for small rooms. I play games and watch movies on moderate volume level, the SB12 sounds good, very powerful, tight and accurate. And quite good on music too. On price match or for +20% price, I would go with the SB12.

The Svs arrived today. Probably going to hook up tomorrow, or more likely Friday when new tv gets here. I’ll be happy to report back. The T1000 has served well, bit like you, I fell that it was time to move up a little in the world.

In previous years, the sale lasted until stock was gone. The PB12 has sold out fairly quickly each year, while the SB12 is generally available at authorized dealers for a few months. SVS runs out of stock fairly quickly, while authorized dealers generally have stock longer.
Basically, if you want the PB, don't wait too long as they sell out much more quickly.

if what you want is the PB1000, I'd get the PB12 instead. I don't think there will be a big sale on the PB1000.

The last two years they only had the NSD series on sale for black friday IIRC, so I wouldn't expect the PB1000 to go on sale. You prefer the 1000 because of the piano finish option? Because the NSD is cheaper and better otherwise.

I would say so, my SB-NSD is in my basement which is probably 28x28 and sounds good, if I place it in the corner it is obnoxious, no where in the tiny house escapes the bass and I don't have mine cranked. I use it almost exclusively for music with a large pair of sealed 8"driver bookshelfs and they are great together.

Basically, if you want the PB, don't wait too long as they sell out much more quickly.

I was going to either get the SB12 or the PB1000. The PB12 is too big for my room. Do you guys feel these are comparable? Also looking at the Mono10, which I believe only went on sale 10% off today.

EDIT: After a little research and measuring, it will still stick out a bit more than I want. But I might pull the trigger. Ugh. Also, according to camelizer, the PB12 was $449 just a week ago.
