Okay, so the dcm speakers arrived earlier today and I got them hooked up just now.... The center channel is massive and barely fit in my entertainment center
I was “showing the polks off” to my cousin on Saturday night with the opening scene of bumble bee... to my ear, they sounded decent or at least much better than my onkyo speakers....
But WOW.... I just watched the opening scene again... and the DCMs sound waaaaay clearer than the polks did.... the speech is much easier to understand... the polks sounded a little muffled and like they were getting distorted at high volumes!!!! I guess it’s hard for me to describe... but they just sound sharper...
Now I need to figure out what to do with the polks.... I’ll probably get more out of them if my replace my left and right onkyo speakers in my other setup than if I use them as surrounds....
Also, I caved and ordered in-ceiling dcm speakers.... those will get here on Friday but I won’t get them installed until I finish the theater in March... I’ll probably end up getting the dcm in wall speakers as well.... unless you guys know of some similarly priced budget in-wall speakers....a guy near me was selling a set of four in-wall klipsch speakers for $80 but they sold quickly
Thank you guys so much for your advice!!!
