This article will explain the differences between class A/B and class H amplifiers.

https://www.audioholics.com/audio-am...lifier-classes

Class H is similar to class A/B except it has a lower power voltage rail and a higher power rail. The amplifier will switch between the two depending on the demand.

If they are the same amp, then the webpage for the amp in the OP is wrong, and it is not a class H amp design, it is class A/B like the Outlaw model 5000. I have an Outlaw 5000 and I do think is a great product for the price.

Either the product webpage for the XA5180 is wrong or the linked manual is, one or the other. I notice the manual in the link is for a model 5500 not the XA5180.

heh, did you know that you can still be considered to be a "class a/b DESIGN" amplifier and still employ Class H tech? :-)

They must be getting proud of that amp or selling a lot of them. The price has went up $100 since this thread started, it's $550 now.
