The might JBL Studio 590 is a dual 8" driver beast of a speaker and with this deal you can pick them up for $599.99 each, a savings of $399.96. The price includes free shipping.
Why wait to get great sound in your stereo system! At 40% off these JBL Studio 590 towers are a screaming good deal. If you’re going to have to stay at home, you may as well make the most of it. Spend quality time with a great pair speakers.
The JBL Studio 590 is a 2-1/2-way dual-woofer floorstanding speaker that employs a 1″ tweeter mounted on a glass-filled bi-radial horn to bring you the same detailed highs you’d experience at a concert, and two 8″ woofers to fill out the low end.
These go up and down in price like the stock market and are still in production (in China). They sound pretty good albeit slightly lean due to recessed mid bass (in my room) although deep bass is excellent and they measure well.
Main disadvantage is that they are top heavy which can be dangerous if you have toddlers at home.
I saw some comments on the Zeos Reviews of them that the treble wasn't very clear?
I have ascend acoustic sierra 1's but looking to upgrade to tower speakers.
If you have the Sierra 1's, they are a nice speaker. But compared to the new sierra 2ex (or Sierra Towers) there is no comparison. Same for the JBL 590. Sierra's (2's & Towers) are just in a different league entirely.
1) What are you trying to accomplish?
2) Do you have a good sub matched w/ those sierra 1's?
3) Why would you want to go "down" in sound quality?
I'm thinking it's probably a cost thing. But I'd wait & save up and get the Sierra 2ex's and (eventually) match w/ a good sub. Very much a better sound than the JBL 590's (not that those are a bad speaker. But...)
