I just got the little brothers the 530's Bookshelves. They sound incredible. The 590's are too massive for my space but for the price are a steal.

How are the 590's
I saw some comments on the Zeos Reviews of them that the treble wasn't very clear?
I have ascend acoustic sierra 1's but looking to upgrade to tower speakers.
Thanks!

I have a pair running off a Denon x3500 in a 3.1 setup and their treble from the tweeter is phenomenal along with overall sound in every way. Not sure why the review stated that..

These go up and down in price like the stock market and are still in production (in China). They sound pretty good albeit slightly lean due to recessed mid bass (in my room) although deep bass is excellent and they measure well.

Main disadvantage is that they are top heavy which can be dangerous if you have toddlers at home.

If you have the Sierra 1's, they are a nice speaker. But compared to the new sierra 2ex (or Sierra Towers) there is no comparison. Same for the JBL 590. Sierra's (2's & Towers) are just in a different league entirely.

1) What are you trying to accomplish?
2) Do you have a good sub matched w/ those sierra 1's?
3) Why would you want to go "down" in sound quality?

I'm thinking it's probably a cost thing. But I'd wait & save up and get the Sierra 2ex's and (eventually) match w/ a good sub. Very much a better sound than the JBL 590's (not that those are a bad speaker. But...)
Call Dave F. at Ascend and chat with him.
