When will this be available? I thought it was already shipping, it's still pre-order?

+1.
Do disc purchasers also get the download?

I am interested in the Blu-Ray disc version, and have a few questions:

1) Is it ok to use with Calman? (I think someone mentioned it was optimized for use with Chomapure)
2) Can all of the test patterns play back in 1080p/24p?
3) Does it include color windows/sweeps for 75% saturation at 100% luminance?

All. Can we please keep the threads separated, so there is no confusion? This thread is specifically for my Advanced Calibration (1080p) project. However, to answer your question, yes. The UltraHD Blu-ray disc based version will stay in a pre-order status until I physically receive my first shipment, which is expected at the beginning of next week. The disc and digital download are two separate projects and therefore two separate purchases. However, I gave existing customers a discount on the disc based version and will most likely offer a bundled package in the near future. Thanks!

Hi ShowbizPizza,

Yes, my "Advanced Calibration Disc" can be used with CalMAN or any software that utilizes a round nearest method. All test patterns were designed and encoded at 1920 x 1080p @ 23.976 (24000/1001). This suite offers a multitude of saturation sweeps including 75% Sat/100% Amplitude patterns, at various patch sizes. Please see the instruction manual HERE. The last page displays the avlaibale patterns and layout. Thanks!

Ryan, on your RMACD disc, there are window patterns listed at 75% and 100% amplitudes; is this the same as luminance/stimulus level in CalMAN? I believe saturation levels is different, and your patterns are 75% saturation, correct? Thanks, just trying to figure out some of the confusing calibration terminology....

If you're familiar with CalMAN 5 Home Enthusiast, do you know what the 'Saturation Sweeps" setting should be in the Workflow Basic Options for using your disc? Currently it's on "AVS 709 Sweeps", but there's also a "75% Only" option.

Will this disc be appropriate for calibrating 4K SDR or better find one with 4096 x 2160 patterns (I don't know if it exists)?

I have both Mascior's calibration files on disc and USB.
I saw this yesterday on youtube:

Around the 4:30 mark he mentions color 'color decoding errors' on the Xbox One X.
I tested this on both my XB1X and LG UP970 UHD player, and both showed the same 'error'.

But... I then tested it with the HDR test files played from a USB drive, and I saw the very same 'error'??
Does that mean that my TV (LG OLED55B6P) has color decoding errors?

Could someone who have access to these HDR files test this on their TVs via USB?

Hi WildBoar,

These test patterns are specifically designed for UltraHD (3840 x 2160)/HDR-10 video configuration and/or calibration, no SDR. Thanks!

Ryan, thanks for your quick response.

I thought the current thread was for the Calibration Disc with 1920x1080 patterns and the thread named "R.Masciola's HDR-10 UHD Test Patterns" was for the 3840x2160/HDR-10 patterns.

My only concern was about using the 1920x1080 disc for UltraHD SDR calibration.

I'm trying to catch up with the current calibration world after a long hiatus so my thoughts could seem pretty obvious for you, my apologies in advance.

Hi WildBoar,

You are correct, sorry for the confusion. Yes, my "RM Advanced Calibration Disc" would work perfectly fine for UltraHD SDR/BT709 calibration. Thanks!

How do I purchase a copy of both versions of your calibration discs (HDR/1080P)?

I'm just upgrading from an old Panasonic PT-AE2000U (which is still working fine, by the way) to a newly ordered JVC DLA-RS440 eShift (faux-K) HDR10 projector.

I used the old Digital Video Essentials Blu-ray to calibrate the Panasonic - but that's SDR, of course.

I'm not interested in buying calibration equipment right away, but am hoping to find something like DVE that I can use to calibrate my new HDR10 projector by eye once I've set it up when my basement theater is rebuilt in a few months (it had to be demolished to replace a cracked main support beam that runs the length of the house). The rebuild enables a much larger screen area, which the old Panny wouldn't put out enough light for.

Can one of your disks be used like DVE to calibrate by eye?

Hi Philnick,

Unfortunately, HDR video calibration really requires software and a meter. Even though my current HDR product's provide basic and miscellaneous patterns, they are essentially for observation purposes. Thanks!
