I did, I forgot to take photos of the numbers though. It was a very long day.

I did a full reset, they did a very good job on this calibration.
I did a 2pt with some CMS and dE remained below 3.

I'll see if my friend can grab some photos of it for me.

I didn't do an 11pt this time. Really it would have been fine tuning only.

All other settings are user preference really. I set Sharpness to 10 for slight edge enhancing. Color temp is always normal. I always have Clear action off.

Is this on calibrated or calibrated dark for sdr and hdr? What about auto brightness control, black detail, contrast, colour and tint, black detail, active full array, gamma and film mode? Am I reading that right SDR backlight is 50 and 65 for HDR?

Cheers

It's all based on calibrated dark. Everything else is stock..... I only posted changes.

Nevermind I changed it back to 15 which was default for calibrated dark.

Okie so for both HDR and SDR I used 'Calibrated Dark' and set SDR Backlight to 40 and HDR to 65 and Sharpness for both changed from 20 to 10.. everything else default correct? Minus your colour tuner settings obviously

I used the same settings but only used "Calibrated" because I have always thought "Calibrated Dark" was too dark. These settings have always applied to both "Calibrated" and "Calibrated Dark" in the past.

The only differences:
Factory Calibrated has a backlight of 55 and a Gamma of 2.1 versus Calibrated Dark with a backlight of 20 and Gamma 2.2

I use Calibrated Dark with Contrast of 49 to compensate for the Gamma.

Yea backlight set to 15 in SDR is 105nits. 20 is about 125nits. Like I said on SDR set that to your preference. I use 15 with no lights on and 40 with normal watching TV lights.

Hi y’all - I wanted to share a few anecdotes and hopefully get feedback on whether I’m approaching calibration on these TVs correctly for SDR. I have a PX75-G1 but was told this was the most appropriate thread since the P-Series and Quantum X all seem to calibrate similarly. I used HCFR and an i1 Display Pro OEM probe and streamed Ted’s calibration disk over an Apple TV 4k using Infuse.

Disclaimer: I’m still somewhat new to TV calibration so I don’t pretend I’m an expert.

Pre-calibration settings

Calibrated Dark
Backlight, Brightness, Contrast, Color: 50
Tint 0
Black Detail: Off
FALD: Low
Color Space: Auto
Gamma: 2.2
Enhanced Viewing Angle: Off
Sharpness : 5

Post-calibration results

Gamma: 2.22 (Power Law), I’ll try BT.1886 tomorrow
11-point grayscale: deltaE all under .3
75% color gamut aligned to Rec. 709

I found that Ted’s Calibration Disc tracks grayscale RGB differently than the free patterns I was using. Ted says in his documentation that the Chromapure patterns are “bit perfect” for HCFR so I decided to use that as my source. The disc were a bit easier to use and were somewhat more intuitive when cycling through the chapters and patterns.

I originally calibrated with FALD OFF but noticed this skewed the final product since I use FALD LOW during normal SDR viewing. Not sure if this is the accepted approach...I’m curious what people think.

Finally, and most frustratingly, bringing up the TV’s CMS 11-point grayscale screen affects RGB deltaE and gamma for a given grayscale measurement. I ended up dialing-in Red and Green a little high for each point, knowing that when the CMS screen was closed it falls into alignment. It’s a little irritating how/why this happens but I was able to work around it.

I tuned the color gamut using 75% saturation patterns.

I guess that’s it. Curious if y’all are seeing similar behavior on your TVs and if this is an acceptable approach. Thanks!

How the heck do you adjust the picture position? I was able to do it a while back but now the settings are grayed out. I cut the cord and now using antenna with Xbox. I get a sliver of the top of the picture with some digital artifacts. I need to get the pic up a couple clicks.

Tried searching for the topic but couldn't find it in the thousands of posts.

I think I accidently found your answer, if you are on the input you want to picture adjust go to input settings. My adjustments are not grayed out on the Vizio App but I'm running the new 9.X firmware.

Does anyone have a list of settings for a P65-E1 coming off of 18 months of storage? I'd appreciate it.
Any advice on a low cost Calibration Kit? Something for me and some friends to use. Doesn't have to be a "Pro" model. Just be good enough for home use. TIA!

Using Spears and Munsil UHD HDR Benchmark disc, HDR10 bluray perform better on my P55-C1 with Contrast set to 54 and Brightness set to 51. Contrast set to 54 removes vertical misalignment error in one of the chroma subsampling patterns.

Initially banding was introduced in the sky, but switching disc actually seem adjust things to where the benefits remained and banding is gone.
