Description

I am excited to announce the release of revision 23 of The DVS HDR-10 Test Pattern Suite. I would also like to thank Alan Brown (aka GeorgeAB), The President of CinemaQuest, Inc. regarding the co-design of the newly implemented ambient light test patterns available within the miscellaneous section of the suite! The new and/or modified patterns are listed below and please be sure to reference the newly updated instruction manual for further details. As always, thank you for your continued support!

Hi nolimit2k6,

The updated instruction manual for REV_023 is within the zipped file folder of the new release. Also, updated manuals can always be found on the products page of my website. Thanks!

Edit: Never mind I was confused. I just noticed that your test patches all have triplet values now! You also have ABL reset patterns. Very smart idea Ryan! I haven't calibrated in a while therefore I recently noticed these improvements. Your test patterns are so much better than before. Great job!!

Hi panasonicst60,

I'm assuming that you are looking for the 8-bit values, as the 10-bit codes are labeled within each pattern. Please see the 8-bit triplet representation below. All 8-bit triplets assume round nearest. Thanks!

Not sure if this will work in lightspace....Do you have grayscale percentage or rgb values? Not sure if I'm asking correctly..

Yes, it will work.
Just enter the 8 bit values into the sliders for R, G, and B.
'Link' the three sliders with the tick boxes, and then just type the value into one of the 'RGB' numeric boxes, and hit 'Return'.
All sliders will jump to the entered value.

No problem.
But remember the on-line user Guides are 'interactive'.

See: https://www.lightillusion.com/profiling_manual.html
For Profiling

And: https://www.lightillusion.com/lut_manual.html
For LUT Generation

Just click on the menu buttons/text areas, and the page will jump to the description/information on how that function works.

Working on it. However, most of my energy is currently focused on wrapping up the new HDR-10 UltraHD Blu-ray disc. Though I'm still anticipating a 4th quarter release. Thanks!

If you have "any" DV test patterns can you release one at 15% full screen gray so we can try it to see if it even works before you spend a ton of time?

I'll be happy to try it and let you know.

Now that my TV (Sony x930e) and Denon AVR (x2200w) have been upgraded to support DV a test pattern would be great.
Actually, here is an idea. Create a single test pattern (or photo) that starts at normal (non HDR) then cycles through:

Normal->HDR10->HLG->Dolby Vision. Same pattern but cycling through the various modes slowly.

You could and should put a link or mention about your disks and webpage.

I would think there would be many people downloading this test video!

Hi everyone
I want to use thsi product with my Sony VW760ES projector.
What version do I need: DVS UHD|HDR-10 or DVS UHD|HLG-HDR?
Also how disk will be different to digital downloads? just menu? I'm using my HTPC as primary source of the image for projector, so perhaps digital download is enough for me? Will ISO download be possible once disk is ready?

Thanks,

For validation purpose you need to run the patterns on every input you use if you can.

Also how disk will be different to digital downloads? just menu? I'm using my HTPC as primary source of the image for projector, so perhaps digital download is enough for me? Will ISO download be possible once disk is ready?

Can someone help me please with choosing the right version to buy for my needs. Many thanks!

So I finally got my second 4k HDR TV and I figured I need to upgrade from my Spyder to do my TV and monitors. I bought the HDR-10 UHD patterns a while ago but now I'm a bit confused about what colorimeter/software to buy.

I know Calman and saw this promotion of $499 for Calamn Enthusiast and refurb C6-HDR: https://store.portrait.com/promotion...furbished.html

Or should I be using HCFR and buying another colorimeter as a cheaper option and same result?

Any help appreciated.

Hi, these instruments are some old normal C6 (not HDR, up to 1000 nits), so about 4-7 years old, according to SpectraCAL they test them but they don't re-certify them, so their accuracy is based to that fact.
