Hi Candle,

Your link will always provide you with the latest revision, as the file path stays the same and only the actual file gets updated. Thanks!

Hi Pres2play,

I had planned on revising all of our SDR products after the release of our new UltraHD BD disc and Dolby Vision pattern suite project. Thanks!

As an update to all of our customers who pre-ordered the new UltraHD Blu-ray HDR-10 Video Calibration Disc v2.0 should have received the following update below via SendOwl. Thanks!

"Dear Valued Customer,

I would like to provide you with an update regarding your "DVS UltraHD/HDR-10 Video Calibration Blu-ray Disc v2.0 (Disc Pre-Order Promo)" pre-order. Sorry for the extreme delay. Not only was there a delay in production, the first fulfillment that was delivered this past Tuesday was incorrect. Unfortunately, with Sony DADC & Technicolor being the only two companies that manufacture UltraHD Blu-ray and with Sony's 50% layoff this past Spring, has left them a little short handed. However, with that being said, Sony has been working with me feverishly to correct this mishap. The flawed shipment was picked up today and sent overnight back to Memphis. The units will be repackaged and re-shipped back out on Monday 12/3, overnight, with an anticipated re-delivery of 12/4. If all goes to plan, we will start fulfilling orders on Tuesday 12/4. Again, sorry for the unforeseen delay and thank you for your extreme patience. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding your order, please feel free to reach out to us via email and/or phone. Thank you!

- Ryan M."

Ryan, I tried a few more ways to play the DV Test File you provided.

I have a Sony XBR65x930e TV - recently updated to Oreo. When the video is put on a USB stick and plugged into the TV - works fine, triggers DV and displays the pattern.

I have your test file and a collection of Dolby Vision demos (mostly LG) on a NAS on my local network.

I recently installed MrMC on both the Sony x930e and an Apple TV 4K. With the ATV4K, MrMC played the LG Dolby Vision test files fine - triggered DV and displayed great. Unfortunately, your test video did not. MrMC spun for a minute or two then gave up.
On the Sony TV, MrMC does not trigger DV on the LG demo files. When I tried your test file, again, MrMC did not display anything... just gave up

Just wanted to give more feedback ;-)

Hi JGrana,

Thank you for your feedback. The LG demo files are most likely utilizing "profile 4", which works on a lot of earlier DV enabled devices and/or decoders. Our current test file utilizes "profile 5" and we will be incorporating "profile 7" as well. Profile 5 is currently being used for streaming services, whereas profile 7 is typically used for UltraHD Blu-ray authoring. Regardless, thank you again for your feedback!

How do you anticipate delivering Profile 5 to a display?

I might type 2K for 1080p.

Got my copy today. Love the layout, from the black, uncluttered background to the small but razor sharp titles. Great work Ryan!

Edit: the color sweeps for Chromapure align now with ChromaPure3 software. Went through them all in seconds!

Hi panasonicst60,

This has been the most challenging product yet, R&D has been a constant. I've already created a 11/21 step grayscale sweep, white clipping and black clipping test patterns, plus a few others to start. However, the delay on the release is the inconsistency between manufacture decoders. Example, the white clipping pattern plays properly through an Oppo 203 and a 2018 LG OLED...but improperly through a 2017 LG OLED or a Vizio, all in which are Dolby Vision enabled and capable of decoding profile 5. I'm almost certain it's a profile issue. As much as I would like to release this product, it is not quite ready. I have already made corrections and improvements to the method that was implemented in demo file that I released a few weeks back. I'm hoping to have something soon. Thank you for your continued patience!

Hello, I have an LG C8 hooked up to an HTPC and plan on MadVR for HDR content. Does it make sense for me to get the USB version and play the patterns using MadVR? Or will I possibly lose the bit-perfect aspect that is intended? FYI I plan to use an i1display pro and HCFR for calibrating. Thanks.

Does it matter if Minimum Enhancement Layer or Full Enhancement Layer. What I have read on Avsforum and BluRay.com forum, is that the 2018 OLED support MEL, the Sony displays do as well. The Vizios and older LG OLEDS don't.

Per @mascior 'Our current test file utilizes "profile 5"'.
MEL applies to profiles 4 and 7.
I'm curious how someone knows about profile capability in displays. I've never seen it mentioned on a spec sheet but perhaps I don't get out enough.

I might type 2K for 1080p.

Yes, but Profile 7 is the BluRay disc profile.

4 and 5 are streaming and I believe usb Profiles. MEL and FEL are not Profiles.

Profile 7 MEL as described in Dolby Profile and Levels White Paper

The MEL is used to minimize the processing requirements for the enhancement layer and

thus ensure broader use among UltraHD Blu-ray SoCs.

I am reading this with much interest. Is there a FAQ or a link for inexperienced (calibrating) people like me, how to exactly use these patterns? I would like to purchase them, but I'm not sure how to utilize them. For the record:I have an Epson 6040UB, Marantz AV8805, Panny UB820, Roku Ultra, NVIDIA Shield and Tivo Roamio Plus.

This revision encompasses a few updates, additions and/or modifications to the existing test pattern suite. One of the main modifications are the 2018 LG OLED code specific test patches which have now been updated to align with LG’s latest firmware (04.10.15). Secondly, we have added a new set of modified white clipping test patterns, which can now be found within the miscellaneous section of the suite.
