Finally completed our process with ls. Incorrectly placed a setting on a 1sec interval rather than .1 so it took a lot longer than expected 13hrs to be exact. But everything seems to have worked out fine. Haven't run a calman report yet, but currently looks solid in viewing

Select the SpectraCal "Unified Pattern Generator Control Interface" under the "Source" tab.

Generally it is the .bcs file. You may have better luck in the Lightspace thread than here. I wish I could help but I am really new to Lightspace myself and am in the process of learning.

It wouldn't allow me to upload .BCS files, but here are some images of the LUT, does this look right?

No, that looks pretty splotchy and non linear at points. What are you using as your pattern generator?

I can say the first image doesn't look 'right'. I am sure someone with a lot more experience will chime in with what that picture means.

I had similar issues when I first started using lightspace, one issue I had was apparent network dropouts using my FireStick with lightspace connect. Now I use raspberry pi and have it set up as an access point and connect that way without issue

To call a source file destination, is bound to result in people making those errors. I had to double check the instruction that I was reading right before I tried mine.

Does the hdr 10 autocal map over the hlg picture modes or does that need to be calibrated separately ? Disregard looks like the hdr picture modes cover both .

Calibrating HDR10 with AutoCal also calibrates the HLG version of that picture mode automatically. The base panel HDR calibration is shared, only the HDR processing is different.

Based on reading - you need:

1. CalMAN for Home Enthusiast - $399
2. SpectraCAL C6 - $799
3. VideoForge Pro Pattern Generator - $1495 or VirtualForge - $495 (not sure this will work)

There is a package - for $2495 that saves you a little bit - https://store.portrait.com/promotion...r2000-205.html

But still overall a high price tag to pay to calibrate one TV that costs $3500 (OLED65C8P) at least for me. I can see this being valuable if you have multiple TVs with AutoCAL or maybe a bunch of friends who go in on it together (Not sure if that is allowed with the Home Enthusiast bundle) ... But coming from a Kuro Pro-151FD and using ControlCAL for $60, plus a serial cable this seems a lot more expensive.

Just an idea - does anyone rent the equipment you need + the software for a short term? I'd happily pay $100 to rent everything for a week and send it back since I probably would not use the equipment again after the initial calibration (or maybe I would do it again after a few years).

Maybe AutoCAL isn't for me and I should just wait for D-Nice's settings.

Doesn't the LG TV have integrated patterns? Or is the VideoForge PRO the only way to get patterns for the CalMAN Autocal?

Thank you!

You're right if you're talking about the 2019 versions.

My post is over a year old. The 2019 LG OLED panels like the C9, E9, W9 (not sure on the B9) have an integrated pattern generator, the 2018 C8 panels do not. When I wrote that the 2019 panels didn't exist

BTW- This thread is for the 2018 LG OLED models. There should be an equivalent for the 2019 LG OLEDs.

If you do have a 2018 LG OLED, then you do need a pattern generator. For SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) video, you can use something like a FireTV Stick with MobileForge or a piece of software developed by Biasi called PGenerator that runs on a Raspberry Pi. For HDR10, you can also add something like the HDFury Integral or Vertex to add the HDR10 Metadata. Dolby Vision I believe right now you must have the Murideo Six-G or the VideoForge Pro to Autocal Calibrate Dolby Vision.

Can anyone who has taken the 4.10.55 firmware comment on the Gamma? I am without any tools to measure at the moment but seems like SDR is a bit darker.
