Yep, progress is going very well.
We have Alpha version on test (there were demo's at Mediatech in South Africa, and MET Expo in Australia this past week).

With luck, we should at a Beta stage in the near future.

Is there a timeframe for it? Or is it just "done when it's done"?

Ha!
The time frame has always been elastic.
We have a few early Alphas out in the wild, but not yet ready for a Beta.
So yes, "done when it's done" is a good way of looking at the likely release date

Keep an eye on the ColourSpace page of the website for new demo videos, etc., as soon they are made available.

A news update for ColourSpace.

Below you see ColourSpace simultaneously working with 4 probes - an i1D3, DISCUS, CR-250, and CR-100, with another Probe window waiting for the CR-250 to become free.

You can operate them all at the same time.

Ted's LightSpace CMS Calibration Disk Free Version for Free Calibration Software: LightSpace DPS / CalMAN ColorChecker / HCFR
S/W: LightSpace CMS, SpaceMan ICC, SpaceMatch DCM, CalMAN 5, CalMAN RGB, ChromaPure, ControlCAL
V/P: eeColor 3D LUT Box - P/G: DVDO AVLab TPG
Meters: JETI Specbos 1211, Klein K-10A, i1PRO2, i1PRO, SpectraCAL C6, i1D3, C5

So this means you can run i1pro2 and a klein k-10 at the same time profiling the screen.

Yes!

But it has to be added a 'sync' function so both probes can read the same patch – obviously the patch will have to stay on the screen until the slower probe has finished reading it.

Using two separate floating patch windows, with each patch window under control of each probe, already works.

I will mean also that a professional calibrator with 2 or more probes can profile multiple different displays simultaneously

With luck, FSI will have a near finalised version of ColourSpace on their stand at IBC, Amsterdam, this w/e.

If we do make it, ColourSpace will be demonstrated with a CR-100 probe, showing the full profiling workflow, as well as the unique 3D Volumetric graphs built into ColourSpace.

Visit stand 10.B10, and ask for Bram.

I can confirm that FSI have two 'near' finalised versions of ColourSpace on their stand at IBC.
It is not quite as 'final' as we would like, but it is very close, and will show well the new features and capabilities, as well as future potential.

There are some cool new capabilities in Manual Measure, such as using a user defined ‘Patch List’ as pre-set colours.
And you can re-read any patch, even from an existing profile.
So you can load an existing Characterisation profile into ColourSpace, you can re-read any patch to update the reading.
A Double click on any point in the CIE charts will show the patch data, as well as pop-up an additional ‘patch info’ window.
You can also ‘add’ new patches to any existing profile, or build up a profile manually point-by-point…

But, there are a lot of ‘obvious’ functions and capabilities still missing…
The team has a lot of work still to do - but it will not take long now!

ColourSpace being demo'd on the FSI booth at IBC.
Getting very close to a first full Alpha release - fingers crossed!

The IBC exhibition is magic if you love the world of pro video and probably there are sound lovers to 😉
Of course, there was Blackmagic and Sony and the rest, but I had a special interest in 2 other products.
First the change to see ColourSpace in action and second on an FSI monitor!
5 Minutes after arriving at the FSI stand my personal wish for a feature was fulfilled, build up a graph by adding manual measures and click the dots on it.
Importing your old measurements from LightSpace, revalidate them and use the smart graphical helps.
The arrow pointing where a measure result should have been is a little gem.
An exhibition is not the ideal place to take your time to explore everything, I wanted to though.
But other clients and fans deserve also a change to see it.
According to the guys a beta version is coming in a few weeks, so this year ColourSpace will arrive on my laptop.
Then I can dive in all new and improved stuff and sleep less to have more time available…
What I am afraid of… a too good calibration of my displays, how to stop watch movies and playing games???
Guess I must calibrate my life as well.
