Why you should calibrate your TV

This thread is a work in progress intended to be a source of information on what the calibration process is, how it can take your new TV to the next level of picture quality, and answers to many of the common questions new TV owners have on the subject.

It's not intended to recommend any specific calibration software and or services but purely to be a starting point for new owners interested in the topic.

I hope some of the experienced and well know calibrators will share some of their general knowledge to help others as well.

To start here is a link to a very informative pod cast on the subject. Although it talks about Professional Calibration, listen to it as if you are an enthusiast and want to calibrate yourself or if you want to get a professional calibration. The theory behind the topic is the same. It's a little long but it covers a lot of the topics that we will discuss in this thread. -> https://www.avforums.com/news/avforu...ber-2019.16853

There are several excellent threads here in the AVS Display Calibration forum to then read and get engaged in.
