When you display an SDR Brightness pattern with flashing bars, which ones you see flashing per each TV?

I'm sorry, never used a pattern like that before. I have only moderate experience using Calman Home for LG and Displaycal in the last 6 months.

Does anyone have any idea how to use a pattern generator for the CX series?

Are you talking about the internal pattern generator or an external one?

Internal.
Is it possible to even use extrnal?

Sorry, I'm very new to this. I know how to calibrate PC monitors using DisplayCal and my i1 Display Pro, but no idea how to even start with TV's.

Internal pattern generator is used by 3rd party software like Calman. The software connects to the TV on the same network. The software sends a signal to the TV telling it which pattern to put up.

External pattern generators send the patterns to the TV over HDMI.

There should be a menu in DisplayCal that lets you connect to your TV if it is an option. Depending on the software used support for 2020 models might not be available yet.

I'm not sure DisplayCal can write to LG's LUT.

So is there a free option out there that can calibrate CX? not just OSD settings, but also LUT?

And if for example, I want to calibrate just OSD settings for SDR, HDR and Dolby Vision, how would I go about that with my i1 Display Pro?

I attempted to calibrate my CX for the first time using my x-rite i1 display pro OEM RevB, CalMAN home and the built in TPG. and the I couldn't get anywhere close to proper results. The pre-calibration readings were fairly accurate but the post-calibration numbers were completely off the charts and the image looked like I was watching it from behind a green color filter. I followed the steps thoroughly on the portrait display SDR youtube video for the 2019 lg oleds so I am wondering what an I doing wrong? I used Raw XYZ for my meter.

Try using the 2019 ITPG instead of the 2020. I don't believe the new firmware has resolved this issue yet.

2. TV GUI menu Two Point white balance controls are no longer grayed out after CalMAN 1D LUT AutoCal calibration. This was a Hollywood requested feature so they can manually tweak the white balance after calibration. They wanted this for perceptual matching tweaks when matching an LG OLED to a reference monitor.

3. HDMI Override Menu. This feature was another request from Hollywood post production users. This is a hidden menu that is triggered with a remote key combination. I will post a video showing the code and how to activate it.

The HDMI Override Menu allows a user to force the TV into HDR10 or HLG mode, change the colorimetry from BT.709 to BT.2020. You can also pick the mastering display peak and MaxCLL value that gets fed into the SoC. There are certain things in this menu that do not work currently, Because they are seen as features that might be added in later models or years. For example, the colorimetry setting has a P3D65 mode, but it does not actually do anything because the TV does not have a P3 gamut mapping.

4. FILMMAKER MODE (both SDR and HDR mode) can be calibrated with CalMAN AutoCal.

A little reading in this thread would have shown you that this has been discussed here in the past few days. Until LG releases the firmware for full activation of the second TPG in the 2020s, you MUST select 2019 in CalMAN.

Do we have to choose 2019 for both itpg and direct display control or just itpg? I selected 2019 for itpg control and 2020 for DDC and results seem good but I cant verify HDR and DV.

Unless you have an external pattern generator or pattern disc, yes.

You have to select 2019 on iTPG and 2020 on the DDC. The previous reply was saying no you can't do HDR10/DV verification unless you have external pattern generator, not a no to you should select 2019 on pattern source and 2020 on the display.

I updated the new firmware that LG TV just released today, but the result is still the same with calibration errors, which is very strange.

LG's new firmware has been released, the calibration results are still not satisfactory, or errors will occur.

Right something is wrong. It's a real shame, it's July and the new iTPG is not working.

Yah. My last unit that I replaced I updated to the 03.20.xx beta firmware and it was working on that one. I guess we wait now.

But you get successful Calibrations connecting as the 2019 pattern generator?

I will be able to load the firmware tomorrow and test it myself.

For whatever reason, when I check the box to enable calibration on lg home, it raises the gamma/picture mode making it brighter. So when autocal is done calibration and I turn off calibration mode the picture is a lot darker. Its like calman calibrated the brighter picture. Had this issue since I updated to the new firmware.

Actually when you enable DDC calibration the TV is put into Native Gamut. This makes the image look brighter because it wasn't in Native Gamut before it was enabled. Turning off DDC does not make it darker.

Then maybe it's a meter issue? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong? I'm calibrating HDR game mode following the lg calman home guide. When its done with the Grayscale calibration and b4 I turn off calibration mode, I check the results and they are stunning. When I end calibration the picture level drops making it super dark. I can repeat this issue all the time. Any suggestions? Thanks for the reply.
