Best way for me to calibrate HDR/Dolby Vision on LG C8?

Hey guys,

Thanks in advance for your help. I’m far from knowledgeable in this space, so please bear with me as I don’t really know what I’m doing.

I recently got a pair of LG C8s, and I wanted to calibrate them to get them looking their best. I was pretty unhappy with a professional job on one of the TVs (was just done incorrectly), so after seeing I could get my own meter and Calman home for the same price, I decided to just invest in those so I could do it myself.

I used Calman home and the mobile forge app with airplay to calibrate SDR without a hitch—it was awesome how it basically just did everything automatically. What I’m struggling to figure out is how to calibrate HDR/Dolby Vision since it’s my understanding that the MobileForge solution can only handle SDR.

Is there any (low cost) way for me to do this as a noob who doesn’t really know how to accomplish this any way but automatically? Given my personal use, I could justify spending a few hundred dollars on the equipment, but definitely not around $1,000 for a pattern generator. Again, these are 2018s, so just missed the internal pattern generator.

Thanks for your help!
