DD 5.1 or better on Xbox Video through Xbox one

I'm not sure where this goes, but this seems to make sense. Regular threads on reddit and the like are no help. I have an Xbox one, but have never used Xbox video. Today you can rent "The Interview" on Xbox video. I'm trying to get a definitive answer as to whether, if I "rent" it on Xbox one, it will have at least DD 5.1 audio (better would be great, but not holding my breath).

The xbox video website for the movie doesn't say anything, but again, I'm new to Xbox video.

Really frustrating to go on boards like reddit and people saying "I'm buying this on youtube movies to support digital releases." Yeah, let's support digital releases of movies in bad stereo sound.

Thanks for anyone who can help! The wife and I would love to watch this in the HT theater today, but will not do so without at least DD 5.1 audio (which isn't great, but leaps and bounds better than a bad 2.0 mix).

Majority of the movies in HD are coded for 5.1. None of the movies state they are so you just have to take your chances.

The 5.0 is here

When I checked to see if you could rent it, I only saw SD available. Maybe I'm missing something

it's showing up at $14.99 in HD to buy and $5.99 in HD to rent.

I use Xbox video all the time, it is in DD5.1! It is not as loud as a blu-ray, but the quality is there. I love it and recommend it highly. The difference is small, just seems I can go up louder than normal for the same effect. I never have done a back to back comparison. Good luck.

I've never actually used Xbox Video for renting. What are the limits?

How many times can I view it? When does the view time expire?

If it is the same as the 360 used to be...I think it was 48 hours from rental time, and 24 hours from start time.

Watch as much as you want within that time...think A Christmas Story...

You have it for 24hrs, I think you can watch as much as you want in that period. It has all major movies usually.

WHen I looked online it defaulted to SD. I had to go to the drop down menu to see the HD prices.
