I downloaded the Forza 7 4K HDR videos from here: http://www.gamersyde.com/news_19287_en.html#forum

I also grabbed the Horizon: Zero Dawn 4K HDR captures. I cannot WAIT for the XB1X to be able to game in 4K! The clips looked amazing!! So crisp and sharp, like I could reach into the TV and grab the cars. So stoked for 4K gaming.

I ended up with a Xbox One S, as you can figure, no HDR means no advanage in gaming at al, but, 4K blu-ray looked nice.

I would get a new TV but, if you knew what I had to go through to get rid of a 65" RPG tv with the wife...Not looking forward the nightmare of this. Unless the TV dies of course but, the TV looks and works great....sigh..
I could be wrong but I dont think games have the same HDCP protections that movies do. I could be wrong. While not consoles, I gamed on a 4K tv with my PC that only had HDMI 1.4 and it never complained.

HDR is independent from resolution -- you'll be able to play at 4K without HDR.

Yea, dont think I would have any issue running games with HDCP, I dont think I have run into a game that has that type of protection. Just was stating features of this TV...

Yea, know what stinks, they used the same panel/screen in my TV as others with HDR....sigh.. As long as it's a noticable difference over 1080p on the Xbox one, it might be worth it but, it seems I will be missing a lot of color with out HDR...

Sigh...always something isn't it ?

I don't believe this is true... Dynamic HDR10 == HDR10+ , which Samsung already said their new TV's support. (aka: HDMI 2.0a, 18gbps)

I guess I was talking about the original version of HDr10+ that was supposed to come out. Not the Samsung version that has been making the rounds. What was supposed to be the actual successor to HDR10. Either way it won't matter for my Sony 2015 set.

Titanfall 2 will support Xbox One X. This means 4K resolution for increased fidelity as well as support for dynamic super scaling.

They should have included a bigger hard drive for the price. 1 TB is too small so most people will need to spend at the very least another $100 for a portable Hard drive

Even if it were 2TB it would still be too small for me. Plus it willl still be slow. My external drives are much faster than the internal drives MS uses.

I would have preferred they put it a smaller drive and lower the price.

The Xbox One X is supposed to be 50% faster HDD than the Xbox One S.

Still, even if they did make it a smaller drive that would hardly make a dent in the price. 1TB is already a pretty standard size and going smaller than that isn't particularly cost effective anymore.

Thus jacking the price up even more. Most of us already have extra portable hard drives, so this shouldn't be a big issue.

They never said the hard drive was 50% faster but that it would get the data 50% faster. They never explained how that was going to happen. Since even if you go from a 5400 rpm drive to a 7200 rpm drive, you won't see an increase of anywhere near that much.

But even if it is a 50% increase in speed, it would still be slower than my external drives I'm using with my XB1S boxes.

unless they make a 5 TB X, it's a moot point. I'm happy with my 4 TB HDD and 512 GB SSD. The ability to move the drive between machines is awesome

When it comes to X1X it means there are times it'll render at higher than 4K and then downsample to whatever resolution the X1X is outputting to. Its is truly glorious on a 4K display. This quote will come back to haunt me, I'm sure, but there were times on Wargames last time I was testing where it was rendering at ~3200p (6K?) internally. The internal render resolution is dictated by the GPU load, so obviously there are no guarantees as to how often it renders at particular resolutions, but essentially we're using 100% GPU all the time.

The Official Xbox One X thread

I took the plunge, ordered the TCL 55P605 from Best Buy tonight. Delivery scheduled for next Saturday. I just hope some of the issues some are seeing don't bug me too much and I can enjoy this TV.

A week and a half ago I had no plans to upgrade to 4k. Then BB decided to give me store credit for my LG instead of repairing the screen. They sent me a gift card with $1100 on it, and some say extended warranties aren't worth it. My LG is 4 years old, not worth anywhere near $1100 but I wasn't going to argue with BB.

So, the TCL comes in at a great price which leaves me with enough store credit to also get the Xbox One X in November!

So, I'll be back on XBL later this year. Even went ahead and changed my gt to Crimson Nagus. My first game will probably be Battlefront II.

I don't have an external for games. That's why I'm mad it doesn't come with 2tb like the s did. That's one more USB port used so I'd have to keep unplugging something. I have kinect, Disney infinity base and power a mini controller. Can you use USB hub for Xbox? Probably will have to look into that. Or not sell s and keep that for my kids

GamingBolt spoke to creative director Lee Mather at E3 2017 and he replied, “So, we are already running on Xbox One X over in the Microsoft stand. So that’s here this year already. It’s already running at 4K and 60 frames per second with HDR enabled. It’s still early days with that build but we’ve already started to turn up some of the features.”

“We’re going to see how far we can get to being close to a high spec PC. We’ve increased the fidelity of the mirrors, so they run a higher frame rate and higher detail. Shadows can be better. Reflections can be better. See, it’s still early days for that one. But we are already running on it, and it’s here at the show.”

I must be a slacker when it comes to # of games because my 1tb external on my XB1 Fat is right around 40% used.

I almost wish they would offer a X with small HD for a little less $$ cause I don't need big internal drive....plan to keep on using current external. Even better would be one without BD drive since all my games are digital.

I don't believe HDR10+ requires HDMI 2.1 spec.... correct me if I'm wrong though.

My understanding is that it does. The thinking being that the HDMI 2.0a standard only includes support for HDR10, not HDR10+. HDMI 2.1 includes HDR10+ as part of the standard. To allow HDR10+ through HDMI 2.0a would be against the standard, thus not allowed.

That's my understanding. In the Samsung KS8000 TV there is talk of an announcement by Samsung saying 2016 TV's will get a firmware update to allow HDR10+ through streaming and USB, but it won't be available through HDMI.

They did say that they will release consoles with larger drives later. The first model will be just a 1tb.

Personally I did really want that Gears of War 4 Xbox One S in the blood red, it looked so cool with a 2tb drive....but, on black friday when I get a 500gb S with a game and 3 months xbox live for $164.50, I just could not pass it up.

The External 5tb works fine for me, I hide it under the stand I have the Kinct hooked up.. I use a portable USB 5 port charger for my controllers (as I have the Xbox 360, Xbox one S and PS4 setup)

That's what I have, the red Gears Xbox S with 2TB drive. And yes, it looks wicked! I'm going to miss seeing it in my media stand when I get the XB1X. My 2TB drive is about 70% full too, so the 1TB is going to hurt a bit. I have an external 256GB SSD for games like Fallout 4 and Battlefield 1 that need the extra loading speed. I've got a couple 2TB drives sitting around that I'll put into an external case and use those for extra storage, so it's not that big a deal.

For me, I will be glad to get rid of one of my white, XB1S consoles.

I just hope they have a vertical stand available at launch for the XB1X. Since switching to the vertical stands with Xbox and PS4, I have no desire to go back to using a console in the horizontal position.
