It has become even worse .. Dolby has updated the app now their own app demos like amaze are only firing from the soundbar, no rears at all 🤣

Not here, but I Am on a beta dashboard, it’s broken, even in Netflix ... with a Dolby stream selected the picture also stutters.

Im on alpha skip ahead and no issues yet.

Working fine for me too, all 11 speakers with AVR decoding.

If you don't see the option, you are on an older version, 3.0, like me. Only version 3.1 contains the new option.
I'm on a paid version. Wonder if that's why I don't get the new version.

There was the November update rolled out to the public & the Dolby app got an update as well, I don't know if it was only an insider update or for everyone

So for those with the new update on the app, you turn the upmixer off in the app and it carries across all content, minus wherever the Blu-ray/UHD "Bitstream" option in the Xbox settings applies?



What does your AVR report with the upmixing disabled and playing non Atmos content?

My 3.0 version has the last update time stamp of 11/15/2019. So, it's a new version, just not the latest version for some reason and it looks like paid or free license makes no difference here.

It broke absolutely everything here ... I am in the Beta ring. Even blu-rays hang in the menu. Netflix won’t start a move or serie if it’s the atmos stream , after 2 percent buffering it gives a error 🤣 switch to 5.1 and it starts. Hope it gets fixed soon! Tweeted Dolby and MS

Did you try a hard reset? I'm in alpha skip ahead and it didn't break anything on my end.

I'm in the omega (lag-behind?) insider ring and I received an update to the Dolby Access application that includes the up-mix switch; however, it showed that it had been interrupted during installation. It didn't appear in the queue as requiring an update, though.

At some point I had turned Atmos off in Settings, and when I saw that the app had been updated I turned it back on again. When I selected bitstream/Atmos (for home theater) it actually prompted to launch the Atmos program to configure it, which I did. I played a couple of the Atmos demos in the Access app and they sounded fine.

Netflix was busted, though ... any Atmos title would cause Netflix to hang and/or crash/exit. So I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Netflix with no luck. I switched back to 5.1, then to Atmos again; still no luck.

Finally, I uninstalled and re-installed the Dolby Access program and Netflix started working again and Atmos effects were definitely in use.

Unfortunately the Disney+ app does not display Atmos as an option for any titles. Not sure that's normal.

Somewhat related: it appears the OS release I now have includes the ability to control my receiver (Onkyo TX-NR787) and TV (Vizio P75-C1). Not sure how long it's been there ... I configured it and it works (for power on/off, volume and mute, anyway).

I just posted about a similar issue ... It was fixed in my case by uninstalling and reinstalling the Dolby Access app.

@Dodge DeBoulet that fixed most issues! Thanks! But it does seem that the channel up mixer only up mixes 5.1 in the front on my soundbar, Samsung N950, so the rears and upfiring rears are not used . I think it a bug, because now I still need to switch manually to 5.1 to add the rears ... I thought that’s what the up mixer is for ... O well better than no Atmos at all

Just started the Dolby App and now it uses DolbyVision. I have the same version as above, Xbox Insider - Skip-ahead ring - level 40.
