I wonder if the internal hard drive can be upgraded. I sure hope that it can be but judging by some of the pics I have seen, it most likely will not.

Considering MS's past stance on internal vs external HDD upgrades, I would expect the XB1X to continue the same tradition. It's super easy for most users to add an external drive onto the system and have their games default to downloading there, so I personally don't find it as compelling to upgrade the internal HDD. Sure it would be nice, just to say it's done, but their current solution is elegant and simple enough, and works

What's wrong with the current range? With my two XBOne S controllers and two XBOne S systems, they have a range of at least 20 feet. Although I haven't tested for anything longer.

That barely gets me in to my theater from the AV rack. Even then I get frequent drop outs.

There are quite a few complaints about the xbox one and s controller ranges compared to the 360 range.

Controller range/disconnects seems to affect some (many?) people, but not everyone. And it might be numerous issues.

I was having problems with controller disconnects in the HT, usually happening when the controller lost range of site with the console because it was sitting in my lap. Then I moved the console upstairs to the cave because it has a 4K TV, and the range between console and controller is very close -- within a couple feet. I starting getting disconnects in this new setup.

Yet I found a solution to the second location - remove the play-and-charge battery pack and replace with Enloop rechargeable batteries - no more disconnects.

I have been using Eneloop or equivalent rechargeable batteries since getting my XBOne S systems. With the XBOne FATs I used those rechargeable battery packs and charge stations. My range is longer with my XBOne S controllers than with the previous controllers.

It is widely reported that the current controller has a very limited range (your 20' is on the edge). So much so that some of the updates released to the console have specifically stated one of the fixes was to improve the range with a controller firmware update.

Still amazed it's not available for preorder yet. Past console had preorders up almost immediately after they were announced on stage. I've heard about the FCC thing but, a preorder isn't actually a sell so I'm not sure why that matters. As long as the FCC stuff was cleared before release what is the harm?

None of the Xbox systems have Bluetooth the new controllers introduced last year are Bluetooth to connect to PC

Edit:don't recall if Bluetooth is for Headsets as well

I guess the only bad thing is I'll probably need another vertical stand. I'm guessing the vertical stands I have for my XB1S boxes will not work with the XB1X?

I was under the impression that the S had Bluetooth functionality in the console that worked in conjunction with the proprietary wireless tech to extend the range of the controllers.

I know everyone is always clamoring for this headset to come back, but was it not insanely uncomfortable for anyone else? I couldn't wear it for more than like 20 minutes without my ear getting ridiculously sore.

I agree with the general idea though, of having a single-ear small fully wireless headset that only does chat audio. Just please make it more comfortable

Agreed it wasn't the most comfortable. But it would be better then nothing. I just want, as you said, a single ear, chat only wireless ear piece.

Personally I'm considering picking up this guy when it comes out: https://www.lucidsound.com/headsets/ls15x.html

It's not quite the same thing, but you could use it with just one earphone in, and turn the game volume all the way down so you're only hearing chat through it.

Once it fit right you forgot it was there. But some days I'd just slap it on and fight with a good fit during matches until I took it off and put it on right.

It definitely paid for itself in the ability that it wasn't easily in reach during rage episodes on Halo 3 at four in the morning.

I never used it for gaming. But sometimes when my friends and I would just hang out and chat, I could wear it and clean my bedroom or family room or kitchen.

Or when I was playing Kinect Sports or some Kinect game and wanted to chat while playing or dancing.

It was a borderline awful mic because people complained it cut in and out but it was the best of the completely wireless ones.

What games is it available on?
Is it upmixing the games or the games have a true Dolby Atmos mix like Star Wars and Overwatch on PC?

I've looked for a list of games that support it, but haven't found any. Has anyone had any luck with Atmos for Headphones? I've enabled it and tried the demos in the Dolby Access app, in games and on a bluray, and I get zero sense of anything happening around or above me. The sound seems like it has an echo or reverb added in, but other than that it's just plain stereo. :/
