So yeah I rage quit out of the Monza/Mercedes race.

Thought we were going to get Hapi in and jumped the start at the same moment...barely. Then the first lap was just a nightmare.

Didn't help to lower the frustration that it was our third attempt at a start because of all the disconnects.

I have so much trouble on the opening. I don't know why we do standing starts, because it is always trouble for some. I just feel like if I don't end up jumping the start then I am getting rear-ended by someone that times the start perfectly.

That's at least the third time I have jumped the start, and I have probably been rear-ended and basically been spun about the same amount of times on these standing starts. Others have had the jump start penalty too.

I putting my vote towards a moving start, for what that's worth.

Alright here are my selections and I guess will be next weeks races.

Ruf CTR3 @ Road America 4pm race time.......with rolling start added (Lets try this out)

Coming in for the 2nd race, this is will be the fun one.

Ginette G40 Junior @ Oulton Park International

10am race time with a little acceleration, would like to end the race around 3-4pm so will have to figure out how much acceleration is needed.

No damage

3 weather slots

Light Clouds
Light Rain
Heavy Rain

I figure lets try out the weather and since we are pitting we will need to make a pit to change tires once the weather kicks in. I will also try this out and if its really a **** show then I will remove the weather.
Crash44 and icelt like this.

I know several of you guys were not totally thrilled with the default 12C GT3 settings and struggled to get a comfortable custom setup with it as well. If true I very much encourage you to give this one a go as I just had a spit load of fun with it at Road America.

Maybe the recent patches played a role as well, regardless this thing moves, breaks and turns realllllly nice like with these settings. Be aware, it will rotate pretty quickly on you but not in a nasty surprise kind of way, more of in a "wow that's way cool how quickly I can point the nose where I want it to go" fashion.

Damn fun , will be interested to see what the T300/G29 racers think of it.
And note the time stamp of 08-10-2015, 07:40 PM or 3 days prior to the start of Season 3.

Which happens to be the date when I fell across said website.

I come across good info, I share good info. As evidenced by my track record. Pun intended.

Nooooo... just in case I get forced into cockpit view again can you post your Field of View settings please? I know we have the same size TV and I'm pretty sure we sit at about the same distance.
Lol, cockpit is 55 and im about 13ft away. Can tweak between 55-59 per that site.

Make sure to map seat back on controller as i notice the game sits you super close to the wheel.

I liked the slower car thing, lots of strategy needed for every corner to keep your speed up. Ginetta Jr. is gonna be fun. The fast tire wear combined with rain might be a mistake but we should try it first.

Yeah rain will be tough on its lonesome, even more so sans ABS & TC on those cars that don't come with them. So I agree that adding tire wear may be 1 step too far.

And MPH man you shouldn't have rage quit. In both races the eventual winner came from way back. In the case of the Monza race, P1 was fumbled away 3 times in the last 2 or 3 laps.

I tried using that site with the calculator. When I set it up the way it said I couldn't see jack around my car and it was kinda hard to drive because it was so close to the windscreen. After not liking it on a few different cars I just set it so it feels right then fine tune the seat per car. I like to use the dash gauges so they need to be on screen, mirrors I can live without.

It died, no power no nothing. I raced with a controller on snetterton. That track is my nemesis. 2 races, both times the wheel gave me issues on that track. I qualified with the wheel then it died. Used the controller ad couldn't stay on the road. Very touchy.

The wheel kicked on later so will use it over and over again to make sure nothing goes wrong. Will race snetterton again too

That is weird. In each qualifying when the time ran out, my wheel turned about 80 degrees right and the force feedback held it there until the race green. I didn't have an issue when driving though.

Okay, I'll join you in a few weeks then. My wife is off for two more Wednesdays, then I'm free in the evenings.

Is anyone playing tonight, and by anyone I really mean @icelt ? I'm going to need some help with this new car and track.

I've never like playing from inside the car, but I started getting used to it last night, I wonder how terrible it would be with a glare from the sun or rain.

Tried out the g40 junior in the rain and it's not to bad. The light rain was enough to get you around the track before putting without making the track to slippery. I don't think we will have to much trouble with this car in the rain. It's a slower vehicle so it won't be all over the road.

Snetterton...getting disconnected in qualifying, not having enough time for a full lap and starting in last place didn't help.

Doesn't matter...this past Thursday might be the last race night I can make for a while with my work schedule changing around anyways.

Won't be the same on the track w/o you MPH! If we need to find a better day to help include you I say we make the effort.

@Crash44 - ok man, here's the in-depth write up on the FPS's I mentioned Thursday night. It's truly an impressive piece of work and as a result it is long and rather detailed.
