Warhawk servers being shut down?

I'm really hoping this is not true. Warhawk is my favorite game of all time. Literally. I still have my PS3 and over the years have used it far, far more than I ever used my PS4. The reason? Warhawk.

It’s true. And while it does suck, the game had an 11 year online run. That’s pretty amazing. Can one really expect the servers to stay up and running forever?

When I read your post, I thought I wrote it and forgot...I feel the exact same way. GREAT game. My most fun of all time even 11 years later and 1100+ hours of playtime. The game never got old for me.

Played Warhawk for many years. Disappointed with Starhawk, though, after really looking forward to it. Memories of Warhawk Wednesdays with other forum members. Basically the only and last video game I ever played.....I'm a child of the 50's....

Sad, but again, it was up for many, many years. Sure got my money's worth.

Might play some before the October 25th date...for old times' sake.

I'm finding that I'm smarter than I thought, but dumber than I need to be.

Like you, I was very excited about Starhawk before it came out, but in the end, very disappointed. If only Sony would do an HD version of Warhawk for PS4. Change nothing but the resolution. How difficult could that be?

I was on vacation, but after I got back managed to put in a little time on Warhawk. I hadn't played for quite awhile, but it all came back quite quickly. You are right about getting your money's worth. I'm embarrassed about the hours I racked up playing this game, although most were late night hours when I wouldn't have been doing anything else...

Oh, and I fondly remember Warhawk Wednesdays.

I would like to hope Warhawk for the PS5 would be in Sony’s cross hairs, but since many great multiplayer games just die off, I don't have a lot of hope. Killzone and Chromehounds comes to mind as well. Just no excuse why these games aren’t at minimum remastered/retextured in 4K and at maximum, redone entirely to take advantage of current/next gen hardware. Sony and Microsoft need to keep an eye on these classics and large loyal fan bases, instead of developing generic titles catered to the digital sheep.

Think so. It was a long, long time ago. Back when HD-DVDs ruled the world.

HD-DVDs were clearly superior but suffered from a smear marketing campaign by the oligopoly Sony. They clearly had much more depth effect and higher bitrates.

It was a great game for it's time. I'm surprised the servers stayed on this long.

I had to play a couple farewell games last night. There were quite a few playing. One thing came to mind.... Will people still be allowed to run their own Warhawk servers, and it's only the official Sony Warhawk servers being shut down, or is that not possible?

On the opening screen for Warhawk announcements, there were no announcements. Odd.
