What games did you pick up on Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

I don't buy games when they first come out so I'm behind the curve on that, but I picked up a few games on the cheap that were on my wish list. These are all for PS4.

Kingdom Hearts III - $13
Far Cry Primal - $7
Spider-Man: Game of the Year - $15
Days Gone - $20
Nier, Automata Game of the Yorha - $20
Indivisible - $15
Dead Cells - Action Game of the Year - $16

I also bought Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 off PSN during their end of year sale for $4.50. I prefer physical media, so I rarely buy digital unless it's the only medium its sold on. Anybody else get anything?

Updated with prices.
moepoker and pspoar like this.

Rumble & Frenzy - My Mini-Marty Build
Screaming Eagles - My Fusion-15 Sentinel Build

Only game I picked up was Assassin's Creed Odyssey Ultimate (includes all DLC) on PSN. The rest of my Black Friday shopping consisted of Christmas shopping, but now I'm done and only need to wrap all the gifts.

I picked up God Of War PS4 for $10, the Phoenix Wright trilogy for PS4 for ~$20, and Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PSVR for $13.

Play Nier IMMEDIATELY. It’s the best game on your list and one of the very best games released this generation. Everyone is talking about Death Stranding being proof that video games can be art and meanwhile Nier Automata is standing in the corner like: am I a joke to you?

What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue:
Consider yourself lucky that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your present circumstances seems to be more likely, consider yourself lucky that it won't be troubling you much longer...

It was on my list for quite a while. I'll either be playing that or Days Gone after I finish up Ni no Kuni II.

Just make sure to give it a chance. When you start, if you’re like me, you’re going to think: this game is bonkers weird and is very... anime. I have nothing against anime but I was a bit turned off at first by some of cheesier elements (like the camera that literally looks up the skirt of your protagonist every time she runs). It’s really a testament to the smooth-as-butter gameplay that kept me involved... right up until the story got it’s hooks in me and away I went. Seriously, I can’t say enough about this game. It’s a masterpiece. A weird, bonkers, subversive, achingly beautiful, heartbreaking masterpiece.

Definitely. I also bought The Division 2, but I don't play online. I guess I'll be reselling that one since I don't have PS+ and it's kinda worthless for a solo player.

I only finished the first playthrough of Nier Automata... and I didn't care for it. I know it's a game meant to be played through multiple times to get the full story, but I didn't enjoy it enough to put up with another playthrough. I liked PS3's Nier more. Everyone has different tastes though, so certainly give it a shot. I honestly got a lot more enjoyment out of Days Gone, even though it's unanimously rated lower than Nier Automata.

Just to clarify something about Nier: Automata: your "second playthrough" is not what we normally think of as a second playthrough; the credits rolling are kind of a fake-out. When you start the game the second time you play a different character, so you'll be seeing events from a different perspective; you're seeing things that the first character wasn't around for. When the credits roll again and you start the game for the third time, the game continues from where the first two playthroughs ended, but from the perspective of a third character. And it just get weirder from there.

I thought about picking that up as well. I wasn't sure if Automata was a continuation of the first or if there's any kind of relationship between the two at all. I still actively play my PlayStations as far back as PS2 so it being on a previous gen system doesn't bother me.

But i digress. Anybody else pick up anything over the sales weekend?

I bought the console on Black Friday and carried it back the next day. I realized that I was not ready to spend time on games.
