Yakuza 0. As a big fan of the Shenmue series, I was destined to love this game. I am actually enjoying this even more, thanks largely to its robust fighting system and great sense of humor.

I want to add that Capcom should make a Final Fight game in this style.

I bought Escape from Tarkov about 3 weeks ago and haven't played anything but Tarkov since then. Game can be brutal but addicting. A death means so much when you lose all the gear you are wearing on death and must rebuy (in-game currency) to keep going.

Still stumbling my way through Quantum Break. I love this game. But I am still baffled how I've gone this far (episode 3) without fully mastering or even understanding the full use of the time bending powers. It feels a little gimped, so that even an in game novice like me won't get frustrated and bail. But I am enjoying it nonetheless. Not as good as Timeshift IMO. But the graphics are awesome!

I just started playing Battle Chasers: Nightwar. I saw it was at 60% off so I scooped it up. It's pretty fun so far and the hand drawn graphics are beautiful.

I really enjoyed that game but one of the final confrontations was so hard I wanted to give up but I’m glad I didn’t. I am a huge Alan Wake fan so I suppose this makes me a remedy fan.

I bought the standard edition for about $45 because I didn't want to buy the highest tier edition (about $150) until I was sure I liked it. I love it. The higher tier gives you a bigger "stash" and a bigger in-game container (that is safe even if you die). There will be another wipe (lose all your stuff/progress) in a couple of months and at that time I'm going to upgrade to the Edge of Darkness (EOD) version to get the perks.

EFT does not hold your hand and can be brutal. I would recommend browsing through the EFT reddit page and watching some Twitch/Youtube for tips. Pestily and DeadlySlob are two great sources. Also Klean and to some extend DevilDogGamer.

Thanks for the tips Bud, this looks and sounds like my kind of game. I will definitely check out those vids on YouTube/Twitch. I love a challenging game.

I've been playing a ton of The Surge. Came in one of the humble monthly piles. It's very much like Dark Souls. Can be hard, can be easy. Takes patience and strategy and everything is easily beaten. It's a very busy looking world, in terms of the scenery and level assets. But, very easy on the spec requirements. I know because I was able to actually play it on my laptop battery power before realizing the plug wasn't seated correctly.

Nioh on the other hand wrecks my laptop plugged in. Bad pc conversion, I think.

Holy hell. I've just finished Battle Chasers and now Rise of the Tomb Raider. With my limited time i feel like i deserve a medal or something. Participant medal, perhaps? Battle Chasers is a great game that harkens back to the old Chrono Trigger era and it is very worthy of your 40ish hours, IMHO. Fishing FTW!

Finally finsihed Fallout 4 , (at least made it to story ending) and started a
interesting game so far ... monsters den godfall........ , turn based combat,
lots of items that drop from fights, etc... average graphics, very good menu
and sorting , can't find any manual though...... about hot keys, how to select
more than one item in inventory when you sell......... etc...

this game will keep me from buying a 2080 , haha........

Just looked up that game. You definitely won't need to upgrade your gpu for that. In fact, your toaster may be able to run that game. I'm not a graphics whore, but man I don't think I could get past those graphics.

Got into the Google Project Stream for AC Odyssey today. Gave it a try and so far so good. Game looks pretty good and pretty damn smooth as well. Resolution is 1920x1080 which is a bummer since I am running 2560x1080. On the bright side the game is free until January

I'm having a very difficult time holding attention too and really loving anything I'm playing lately for more than a brief daily session of 30-60 minutes. I like Quantum Break...but Once I quit a 1-3 hour session, for some reason I don't return for months. It's even worse with Assassins Creed4 Black Flag. I completely lost connection with that game. And now don't know where I am in it...or what I'm trying to even do. Once I finished 'Rise of The Tomb Raider', I guess I just picked the wrong ones in my Library. So this weekend I'm going all in on Deus Ex Human Revolution Replay and Mankind Divided on PC. That should get me going again. And I also plan to completely restart Dragon Age Inquisition from the beginning on PC again. Those 3 should get the juices flowing again. Non of the new stuff like Red Dead 2 even interest me anymore. I need a new Halo, Mass Effect, Darksiders, or Bioshock Infinite type fix badly!

Just downloaded Forza Horizon 4. I'm bummed that the game is supposed to suck using a wheel, but I'll give it a try anyway. Gotta make use of that wheel that takes up way too much space in my cave!

Am I the only one who feels like there are no great new games or franchise releases out this Holiday Season that pushes a lot of hardware out of the retail doors? There is no new game that I must have or buy anything new to play it. Maybe this is a good thing. And hardware is just running way ahead right now. But I was frankly surprised that we didn't get a new Halo for XB1X & PC, Mass Effect DLC, or nothing. What am I missing here other than PS4 or Nintendo. Maybe there is a lot going on with their popular franchises. I have large libraries with Steam, Origin, Uplay, Xbox to keep me pretty happy. But I am just not seeing a "must have" new release out there right now.

I nearly bought AC Odyssey and the new Tomb Raider during the holiday, but I resisted and will wait for a full version of each, on sale.

I still have about 10 games I started and never completed.

Nioh
Resident Evil 7 - not sure if I will finish. The first person perspective was not my cup.
The Surge
Dishonored 2
Deus Ex mankind divided
Dead Rising 4 and 3
GTA5
Gears 4
Middle Earth shadow of war
Still to finish the vampire DLC of Witcher 3

I'm about five hours into the Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The graphics are amazing in this game. I'm still not 100% sure if I'm getting Atmos audio, but I have the Windows 10 Dolby for Home Theater installed, and set the in game audio to "Spatial Audio". It sounds amazing, but my receiver doesn't say "Atmos". That being said, it's the best sounding game I've played. The ambient noises are incredible. Loving it!
