I'm getting the urge to roll through one of the Batman Arkham games again. Those three might be my favorite game trilogy.

I'm counting the days until Bioware does the obvious. Meaning a complete upgrade/remaster/remake of Mass Effect trilogy...with all DLC baked seamlessly into the story. And balanced 100% to the gameplay scale and mechanics of ME2. They could even add a bridging cutscene at the end suggesting that a rescued "Clone" Shepard (Citadel DLC) and Miranda (Illusive Man Agent) were stowaways on the "missing Quarian Ark headed to Andromeda. Then they could pick up the ME-A Franchise with a new story twist...revealing the whereabouts of the Quarian Ark that has C-Shep/Miranda on board along with a mysterious, unknown "Sentient" Emitter on board that signals & links the "Remnants" to start a stealth reconfiguration of Andromeda to you know what. Except this time the configuration would include the Milky Way "Shepard" solution, that Ryder and the A-Team would have to solve over several new episodes. That would be Kick-A IMO. And it would be the must have definitive Mass Effect Bundle to own by all ME fans. It would be fascinating to see how they merged the mysterious Sentient/Shepard/Miranda/Illusive Man agendas with the Ryder/Andromeda mission imperatives. Sigh...just wishing & hoping. That would be a great launch platform for the next Gen Consoles & PC Gamers.

Speaking of BioWare and remakes, I've been dying for a remake of Knights of the Old Republic with technology on the level of what we have with Fallen Order. A remake of the sequel that allows all original ideas to be fleshed out would also be greatly appreciated.

It was recommended to me by @ruggercb in post 1904 . I tried it briefly -- it seems works fine, but was in the middle of troubleshooting, so I uninstalled it. I use desktop shortcuts to keep track of what I'm playing, so I'm not sure I need something like this personally, but I wouldn't rule out re-installing it down the road.

===

Unrelated: I'm playing through Far Cry New Dawn, and like most all the Far Cry games, it has it hooks in me. I would compare this one to Far Cry Primal, in that it does things a little different and feels like a side game rather than a full Far Cry, but it's enjoyable. And it looks and plays nice on my system.

So I picked up GOG 2.0 and downloaded Beautiful Desolation. Holy crap was it ever slow. I ended up stopping and going back to the website to download the game. I was only getting 2-3MB/s through 2.0 but on the website a direct download I was able to get around 60MB/s.

As for GOG 2.0 interface so far I like having everything in one spot once I got signed into everything (surprisingly I remembered all my passwords for once!). Though I do wish there was an option that whichever library you are looking it it would lighten/gray non-installed games.

Halo: Combat Evolved. Having a blast revisiting this despite being sick. It plays as if I never stopped in the early 2000s, except this time I'm using the Elite Series 2 controller instead of the Duke; keyboard and mouse just isn't right for this game. Once right stick sensitivities were set to "8," I was demolishing those bastards with enough precision to take on Legendary mode without too much of a fuss.

The only Halo game I'll ever need, but I'll try the others as they arrive.

Xeno Crisis. Excellent throwback to Smash TV type of gameplay. I still suck at it, while my younger self would have been able to master it in little time.

Finished Far Cry: New Dawn and Gears 5. Picked up Far Cry 5 on sale to re-play on PC while waiting on Doom Eternal this Friday.

Also still working through Darksiders Genesis and the new Destiny 2 material. Oh, and re-loaded Batman Arkham Origins and finished the DLC "Cold Cold Heart", then restarted the main story.

Played the Resident Evil 3 remake demo. Everything done with this game so far makes this longtime RE fanboy very happy.

I think I missed RE3 first time around...? I'll have to give that demo a shot.

Played some of that, too. Incredibly well thought-out level design and upgrade system, and those animations are among the best there is.

Nightdive did an excellent job with the Doom 64 port.

Yeah, I also played Doom 64 a bit while waiting on Eternal to unlock. Never played it before, and it's really good and actually has a different feel than the other old-school Dooms. That second level has some nice puzzle design -- I hope the rest of the game holds up. The main thing that's hard about playing those OG Dooms with a controller is the feeling of walking/running on roller skates.

Just imagine playing with an N64 controller.

I remember the first two Turok games producing a bit of a challenge on the N64 because of the controller. I tore right through those games when I played Nightdive's remasters with a keyboard and mouse.

Playing Doom Eternal (damn good and surprisingly tougher than I thought compared to the precious one)... Half Life Alyx. Easily the best VR game played to date. The level of detail in this game is incredible. Graphics the best I have ever scene. I got stuck in one spot so far from a bad blink, but a quick reboot from my previous checkpoint fixed it. The Atmosphere and sound effects I have missed from the Half Life games are back with a vengeance with it being in VR. Just totally creepy at times

About to boot up Alyx.

Edit:
I've only played a couple VR titles so far, nothing as involved as this game. It is super disorienting, in my tiny play space. I need to make a dedicated zone, somehow. I played about an hour. I went downstairs to raid the kitchen for something. I was completely stuck in that mode of trying to grab things, just a little bit further away from my hand, then not expecting to feel it in my hand. It was very weird. I still feel it a little as I type, and grab for mouse and what have you.

I wear glasses and haven't updated my prescription for contacs in 5 years, due to job not allowing me to wear them. Last time I used the headset, the glasses posed a problem, so I put on some old contacs I still had. Made for a different experience. I still can't find a good position for my headset.

Playing COD Black Ops 2 (old game) with 21:9 support from Flawless Widescreen
But it doesn't work without FW open
Do I have to open Flawless Widescreen every time before starting the game?

For those with RTX cards, check out Bright Memory. It's on sale for $4 something and is a great RTX game/demo that shows RTX pretty well. It is a one man development team.

Impressive work considering the circumstances. Somewhat oddly, though, it made me just want to do another play-through of the modern Shadow Warrior games.
