LG Adding G-Sync to C9 and E9 via Firmware

I mainly PC game on my Predator X35 and then do HTPC gaming on my Z9D which I love for the HDR performance but LG just announced they're adding G-sync to the C9 and E9!

http://www.lgnewsroom.com/2019/09/lg...ng-experience/

They mention a 20xx series card is needed likely because the work that is typically done by the hardware G-sync modules in monitors is offloaded to the Tensor cores. (or at least that is what they want you to think)

Don't do this to me, LG! My Z9D is perfectly fine for HTPC gaming!

Now this is exactly the kind of news I've been waiting for. Let us hope that it actually works as intended and doesn't have some visual anomaly.

For you guys using recent OLEDs, how bad is the burn-in? That's been the only thing keeping me from buying one, but the addition of G-Sync could make me forget that concern if it covers a wide enough refresh range.
