I don't want any video processing from a dvd player, just 1080i from bluray into video processor for deinterlacing

thanks

I think he was talking about SD DVD output at 480i. The Sony models with "source direct" mode offer this which is good news for those with an external VP.

I've got the BDP-S350 on order from ABT. Any idea what type of wireless internet adapter will work with this. Any chance of using a wireless USB adapter?

Here we go again Speed is important to some people period. Each person has a different criteria on what makes a player good or bad and we all have to respect that.

Better check your FEDEX slip Joe. Mine never updated beyond the pick up status yesterday. I called FEDEX and it got misplaced in their sort center in Tennessee. So now mine has been pushed back another day again.

Sorry, I don't have the time to take & post pictures of a dvd player. It's exactly as it looks on the Sony site (it's blue). And the media bar menu is just like the newer Sony Tv's. Personally I don't care for it, but it certainly isn't a big deal one way or the other.

As I said before, load time is fine. And if the startup time isn't fast enough for you there's an option to keep it on standby which will speed start time. It's a dvd player guys, the start and load time are what they are. Once the move starts, the picture is great

My only complaint so far is fast forward. I only had a few minutes to play with it after I set it up, but unless I'm mistaken fast forward was "jumpy" rather than a smooth image, like the Oppo. This was on an SD I was trying out. Didn't try ff on a Blu-ray. I'll have more time in a couple of days.

I spoke with ABT this afternoon, they are expecting their shipment probably Wednesday. They are getting 500 units of the SONY BDP S350 and have only 45 pre-orders to fill. The pre-orders will be filled and shipped immediately.

Hey thanks for that news. That may have just been some android that talked to me in the online chat. I just got my first Blu Ray movies a while ago. Can't wait to test these out. I can finally start buying movies again, since before the whole format war started.

Last week got a bit annoyed because they called me at work to tell me they were shipping it that night, but could not send it to my work address only to my home and billing address. Some weird rule with GE financing and thier card. I took the next morning off to wait for it and it never arrived. When I called they apologized and told me I was given incorrect information. The guy I talked to called me today and give me an update. Initially they were supposed to get them on Monday, but now it is Wednesday. He told me he would call me when they come in. I'll post when he does. Congrats on your jump into Blu Ray. You'll love it.

Hell Rider took about 20 sec.

Question. I have a Yamaha RX-V663 and I want it to decode. If I set BD Audio setting to Mix, I get "PCM", If I set to "Direct" I get "Straight" on the Yamaha. What am I doing wrong to see "TrueHD" on display. This was playing Hell Rider on True HD.

As far as the Flash Memory. The slot is very small. I had a SamDisk 2GB flash drive so wanted to try it. No go, its too wide.

My understanding is you have to use a gaming adaptor (Ethernet) like:

Thanks - that's about twice as fast as my S1, which took 1 minute 37 seconds to load POTC 1.

About how long does it take to boot up?

Also according to the manual if output is set to 480i or 480p Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD-MA won't be set to bitstream even if "Direct" is selected. I don't think you will set it to 480i/p but make sure the player hasn't gone into that mode. Just another think to check.
