So I can hook it directly to amplifier(s) without the need for a pre/pro or receiver in between? Should also internally decode TrueHD and DTS-MA.Thanks In Advance.

It is a risk when any device is used without a pre/pro in between.
Not just this scenerio.

when using analog outputs? how is that dangerous? the player wouldn't be able to output a bitstream signal over analog outputs, that would be unbelievably stupid design. is there another risk i'm forgetting?

Yes but why is it dangerous? Lack of DC blocking at the outputs? Not trying to be a pest just trying to learn.

Andy

No one is reading your thread heading which specifies overall volume control as a feature. Otherwise, it would be TOO LOUD!

What's weird? I've never seen any amp commonly used in HT that has a volume control. Certainly not a multi-channel amp as the OP seems to be suggesting.

True but lots of folks mistakenly refer to an AVR as an amp. Heck, some even refer to a powered guitar speaker as an amp. It seemed to me that the OP was, correctly, referring to a power amplifier.

I walked.

I cannot answer your question because I do not know much about the VC features as they pertain to the analog outputs. I use the HDMI on all the players. I do know that such exists for DVD/universal players so it is possible that there are BD players with the feature.
