I've been itching to get a 4K projector though and like the lens memory functions and at this price point I figure I'd try it. Is there any need to keep the 103 or Darblet? Will I regret selling? We live in a rural area with no good internet access at this time so don't do much streaming except the kids on their phones so mostly standard blu ray discs and have been slowly picking up 4K discs as they've been going on sale. Thanks!
I would keep the 103 because a second BR player is always nice to have around. The Darblet won't work with 4K, so either get rid of it or attach it to another 1080P display.

Hi, thanks for the reply! I guess I'm kind of questioning whether it's worth keeping the Oppo, the resale is pretty good on them and the only reason I got it at the time was to have some of the best source material going to the projector. I have an LG 4K player that I recently picked up. My thinking was to sell the Oppo and get a cheaper blu ray player if needed.

It is your choice. Consider that Oppo is no longer made and will eventually discontinue servicing the unit. But the Oppo is a workhorse, made for continual use.

Also keep in mind that the Oppo is one of the few devices that can rip SACDs, and that is likely one reason that its resale price stays fairly high.

Trying to get Samba working again. Was working great until I upgraded Ubuntu to 20.04
Looks like they depreciated Samba v1

Following docs and tried various options in config file.

ntlm auth = yes
lanman auth = yes
raw NTLMv2 auth = yes
server role = standalone server
client min protocol = CORE

I can see the shares and connect from everyting else.
I just get a password prompt from the OPPO though.

Logging on the samba side shows.

Samba keeps modifying their security defaults. Bless them.

I'm on Arch linux. Here is the most recent change in my smb.conf:

# required since 4.11 to support smb v1

server min protocol = CORE

Was just wondering if after all these years something changed. Seems not.

Well, it has. Netflix has 4K and Dolby Atmos now. And this features are not available on the Oppo, in any of their lines.

I don't have 4K and Dolby Atmos at the moment. So no problem for me.
