Oppo connected into my Marantz sr7005 via RCA. Running test vs of Audirvana on my Mac (Catalina). Music stored on a separate HD connect to my Mac. Using Oppo suppled WiFi dongle. So the problem is when I close down the Audirvana, and turn off my Oppo. Next day I launch everything and the Audirvana does not see my Oppo as a listed item to use. I then need to unplug the Oppo for a minute or so, and then the Audirvana will see the DAC and everything is fine. Until the next time I turn everything on again.

^ Try setting the OPPO to Energy Efficient. This will cause the OPPO to reboot its networking on each power up.

Curious if OPPO 105 can be used as a DAC that would receive multichannel hirez audio (PCM, DSD) through one of HDMI inputs?
I am planning to use OPPO 105 as a DAC and Pioneer LX500 as a transport.

According to the FAQ, What are the specs of the digital inputs?

HDMI
  • The inputs support stereo and 5.1 LPCM up to 192KHz, 7.1 LPCM up to 96KHz.
  • Lossy Dolby Digital and DTS up to 7.1.
  • Dolby Digital Plus up to 7.1.
  • They do not support input of DSD, Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA.
  • If fed Stereo LPCM originating from an HDCD disc, then the HDCD decoder in the OPPO can be used.
  • Note that as with all HDMI, audio can only be carried embedded in a video signal (which can be a black image). To use high bit rate LPCM, that signal must be 720p or higher.

Thank you Bill.
If Pioneer LX500 would convert Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA to multichannel PCM and pass it over HDMI - OPPO 105 would be a good option as an external DAC for hirez multichannel audio.

Hello, for some reason my settings have resettled to factory default on my 105. I think I got most of the video settings. Can someone share the optimal settings for using the USB DAC input to get the best sound out of the DAC?

^ I don’t have answers off the top of my head for your DAC question, but if you find this problem repeats with your Settings you should get in touch with OPPO Tech Support for service, as there is likely a hardware problem with your Settings memory.

Hello,Have tried this set up yet? If so how did you find the results? I'm about to connect a Roon Server the Oppo HDMI in.

Thx
