Which is the largest size that can be used with the K8500 for BD live storage. Unless things changed with the last firmware? That was one thing I didn't like about the K8500. My SOny BD players never had that size limitation.
that looks nice as well i just ordered one

QUESTION:

Likely asked and answered, but can you connect this to a 1080P display (does it down-res the video)?

Goodbye to a great audio and video genius and writer... JOHN GANNON. I enjoyed your friendship, wit and a nice long run we took around Indianapolis at CEDIA years back... and for buying my Runco 980 Ultra years back... you saved my ass! Rest in peace.

Yes. However, there are some instances where HDCP 2.2 may be required to even get a picture. It depends on the resolution constraint copy protection flags set in the source video.

Listen up, studios! Dolby Atmos Lite™ print-outs must stop!!

Had his been noted here? Haven't seen that?

Sounds like like another use for HDFURY.

As an example there are some 4k nature and travel demos on Netflix that are flagged for no output without HDCP 2.2 compliant equipment.

Like I said, it depends on the studio's image restraint flagging.

But all mainstream releases (e.g. Revenant, Peanuts movie, etc) have no issues?

Samsung UHD Bluray Player or Playstation 4.5?

I know its a bit early but if Sony is planning a holiday release this year for the PS4.5 and it will have UHD playback, which do you think would be the better player? gaming aside.

Again I know not much facts are out there just go off of what Playstation has offered in the pass and your thoughts and opinions?

I have never owned a PS3 or PS4 so not familiar with them.

Would streaming apps offerings be similar? would either be capable of replacing my Roku 4 in functionality (probably not but would it be close?).

Just looking to get an idea of what could be expected.

This is under the assumption that no other UHD players make it to market before the holidays which Im sure wont happen but I havent really heard much from anyone else.

So lets have fun with this thread, discuss the pros and cons and what we think could happen or may happen and so on.

I'm waiting for the PS4.5 or whatever they're going to call it. The only player that might bump the PS4.5 would be an Oppo UHD player. A PS4 that plays UHD will be a great all in one solution though, great value.

Yeah I was thinking about Oppo UHD Player but it will probably be at a minimum twice the price of the PS4.5 "neo".

My other thought is with the PS4.5 will it have a smart phone app or will you be able to use a universal remote control with it like a harmony one.

There's a thread in the gaming section on the possibility of an updated PS4. According to reports in that thread, leaked specs do not include an UHD drive.
