So at this point, I have no idea what this player's capabilities are in terms of 4k, HDR, Amazon, Netflix, etc. And will there be differences in the yet to be released US version in September, vs what is available currently elsewhere? Who knows. Apparently not even Panasonic!!
No HDR on either Netflix or Amazon, according to owners in the UK.

Netflix and Youtube are both 4k enabled. No HDR for Netflix in the uk, yet.

I don't use Amazon Prime but it's there.

Interesting. If they're both there, at least there's some hope that HDR will follow.

I'll be quite interested to see if there are any changes or differences when the US model goes on sale in September.

So back to Amazon it goes
There were no dropouts at all during my 8 hours of testing, I used the automatic 4:4:4 setting the output was 4:2:2 12bit.

I also have a Philips on the way will test it as well. Samsung is now up for sale.

I bought my player in Finland and model number is DMP-UB900EG
which is central Europe.
(this is NOT same as UK model)

When you first setup player it will ask your country. List doesn't include UK or US only central EU (Belgia, Germany etc).

If I select Finland there aren't Amazon app only Netflix and YouTube (and other local apps)

I rerun inital setup and select Germany only then I get Amazon app.

Amazon will show UHD logo on titles which are available in UHD (duh..)

But both apps only output 4K60 which is annoying. No auto frame rate. Even my cheap Sony bluray player can do that (1080p24).

Hope that helps.

Curious if anyone who pre-ordered in the US has any updated information as to availability/shipping dates from your retailer?

Looking at the panasonic online store, they still lost sept/October. I hope we are closer to the three week window. Still deciding if I should wait for the oppo or jump on the panny?

Its definitely strange as they were not supposed to be available here in AUS either but one store had a few in stock but not in their inventory. Go figure

In any case its a very good player, after two days I am still discovering the miryad of options and functions available

I pre-ordered my UB900 from Value Electronics back in mid-June. They sent an email a week or so ago and said their first allocation will be shipping the end of August.

Not every country get Netflix and Amazon.

I don't think HDR is supported (yet?).
On LG OLED TV's Amazon and Netflix is HDR enabled. But on the Panasonic I don't think they are yet. Its possible in the future Panasonic may enable HDR in an update.

The built-in Netflix app only supports HDR on the 2016 OLEDs, not the 2015 OLEDs (yet).
If/when the Panasonic player supports Netflix HDR, then you can use that instead.

I just pre-ordered on Best Buy. Sept 2nd SHIP DATE. That is a Friday prior to Monday Labor day holiday. Kind of sucks they could not have backed up the release date a few days and we could have had it to play with over the holiday weekend.

I wonder if not pre-ordered if you could walk into a store on Friday and pick-up? I can always cancel later in the month and take a chance I guess. We will see. Shipping only for pre-order. No local pick-up.

Can someone let me know if the Analog outputs work at the same time as the HDMI audio out?

or if you turn on HDMI audio does it turn off the analog outs?

(My guess is), yes it will work. But HDMI will output PCM and not bitstream anymore as the player will decode the audio.

I currently have the Oppo 103D

It can bitstream audio DTS X/Master Audio and Dolby Atmos/True HD while also outputting the PCM decoded audio via analog. This is how I would need this player to react as well.

I use analog sub out of the Oppo to feed my Crowson Transducers the LFE signal, as I am using both sub outs of my pre-pro already.

Just placed an order for this from Best Buy.
It actually says,

"Get it by:
Fri, September 2nd – Standard"

So, it will probably ship a day or two before the Sept 2 "release date". Best Buy has been very accurate about this in the past.

That sounds pretty good. We preordered from Panasonic about 10 days ago and everyday since then I've received an email extending the expected ship date by one day, currently 9-12-16...

Why in the word is it so hard for these devices to support 2160p/24 from Netflix... So many only do 4k/60.

It's "only" software! If Samsung had got off their a** and done a firmware update to select 4:2:0 instead of 4:4:4 out (like the Panasonic reportedly does), I might still have it (although I suspect there were some hardware issues as well).

yeah, its a cluster. Im liking the xbone S so far, since it does so many other things, but I still have to decide on Panny or PS4 Neo.
