Amazon HDR works fine. You have to remember to select the UHD version of a show to get UHD HDR and you also need to have a fast enough network and internet connection.

Above is critical, 10 to 15 mbps is not going to cut it.

After doing a search in this thread, I know I'm not the only one dealing with Amazon app lip-sync issues, but has there been any official talks about a fix/update? It's driving me up a wall. This player and my Xbox One S support Amazon HDR, but I feel like the Samsung offers the better picture quality between the two.

I think your XBox One S is only showing Amazon UHD that is no HDR yet. That may be why you prefer the UBD-K8500 picture quality

Yeah I notice it to only after I hit pause. Exiting the show and going back in fixes it

Bummer. While The Grand Tour is available in HDR here in Canada, The Man in the High Castle isn't. And neither is TMITHC season two.

I have found the same...if I pause, the lip sync is off. Exit the show and go back in and that fixes it. I've also found that if I hit rewind for a second or two, that also will fix it. The amazon app has a number of pretty lame issues.

It's not just Amazon I notice the same thing with Netflix. This seems like a $50 Blu-ray player adding 4k and charging 6x the price.

Hey guys- no offence meant to anyone at all here. I was wondering for future owner's threads should we have seperate threads to discuss a players technical issues, and another purely for discussing online stuff like Netflix, Amazon etc etc?
I have zero interest in streaming etc purely bought the player for disc playback.
With the Samsung M9500 Ultra HD Blu-ray player being released in 2017 it's just an idea- thoughts?

Nope. 1 thread per player. These are technical issues (lipsync, etc.). It is all part of the same machine. That said, this is not the area for discussing availability of titles or lack there of.

Have you figured out settings for the Onkyo, BR, and TV that work? Lots of confusion on this end. The dual HDMI cable arrangement does not work with my Onkyo 3030 so I simply use a single cable from the player to the Onkyo for video and sound...but the 3030 won't pass HDR. I wonder if other competing 4K boxes behave similarly with the 3030.

It's not the box, it's your configuration. You say the dual output doesn't work with your AVR. Your AVR has HDMI in. Simply use one HDMI cable to your tv and one hdmi to your AVR. You will have to set the 8500 to dual out.

So Samsung has to figure out a fix. Do you also see a wavy line every once in awhile on Amazon HDR content? Playing directly through my LG tv is fine.

This is not a Roku thread and this is not a B6 thread. If you have problems with your TV or other devices try threads dedicated to them.

As for the UBD-K8500, you have to select a show that has UHD and HDR. Also, you need to make sure that you use a 18gbps hdmi cable. You need to set your TVs HDMI port for UHD color or whatever the LG equivalent of that is. And you will likely need a download speed greater than 25 for your internet. You may also have problems if your ISP throttles video streaming from Netflix and Amazon. In that case you will need to get a new ISP.

Let's chill guys. It's OK to confirm that HDR is not working on other devices as well to verify it's Amazon's issue and not the player.

I had this exact same setup at first except I have the Onkyo TX-NR1030 and it worked fine with the duel setup. I recently upgraded my AVR so I know long use the duel setup.

well you're in luck @EddyKnights , you'll simply need to go to Settings>>PictureSettings and switch HDMI Deep Color to OFF, and you're golden.

You can go into your TV settings and enable HDMI UHD Color for the HDMI input you will be using, but this should be automatic for your TV (I would do it anyway, just to be sure).

You'll want Standard, which I believe is the default, and yes, you'll want YCbC4 4:4:4, which I believe is also default (I'm not sure, maybe the default is now Auto; I've had mine for a year next week )

I moved the 1030 to the upstairs setup as it's still a great AVR but I purchased a Yamaha RX-A2060 at cost from a friend who is a local dealer and now run both Samsung & Panasonic 4K players direct through the AVR and all works great. When I was running the duel setup I believe all I had to do was switch the second HDMI in the player to pass trough audio only. I'd have to look again. It's in the player HDMI Settings.

Output info

How do you see output information when watching UHD or BD disc, what buttons you push to see that output info.?
Also how do you arrange my apps (remove or add apps there)
Thanks guys
