SAL1950, thank you for your tip on my av configuration this helped me to get the TruHD & DTS-MA showing on my AVR screen again, heres how i did it but it brought other issues, hopefully yous can help me understand.
So i went into av settings and changed away from current 7.2.2 setup to the closest 5.2 setup there was on the amp options. Now this closest 5.2 setup only had options for front and center bi-amped and two rears as normal, problem i have is none of my speakers are bi-amped, but my centre-fronts and rear backs are all bi-wired and my side wall speakers are single wired as is my front height atmos kef r50s. (bare with me)
So now playing a TruHD or DTS-MA soundtrack the avr pics up the proper name now which i like but instead of the normal 5.2 working i am getting sound from every speaker bar my right rea surround, i'm even getting sound from the atmos speakers. No idea whats going on but the sound was much better than the Dolby surround and Neo-X the avr jumps to when i leave it on the 7.2.2 option.
Please help me understand if possible.
GALONZO, you say the Dolby surround upmixing is still giving me the uncompressed sountrack = to TruHD & DTS-MA, then why does it not sound as bold and prominent?
Would yous advise i just stuck to the upmixing D-surround = TruHD & NEO-X = DTS-MA or should i try and sort it so only 5.2 speakers work and amp says the proper name for soundtrack.
T2 movie was in 6.1 DTS-MA how does that work on a 5.2 setup?
Still learning guys so i'm sorry for boring you with my silly problems.
Thank you in advance.
