Just so we are all on the same page, I ordered the panasonic UB900 from Costco and was delighted in all aspects except for the fact that this player will not play back my network makemkv files with dts master or true hd. Not sure if this was my lack of knowledge in trying but had the player on bitstream out and got nothing for sound (Dts master was only track in the file). It would on some files tell me that the audio track was not supported. Anyone else have this issue? My Oppo 103 plays all these file perfectly and it's definitely not a cable issue (using very expensive top of the line Monster cables)

I kinda thought we all agreed that the 203 initially would not have any streaming capabilities. Of course, you could hope that Oppo's programmers are busy as bees putting the finishing touches on 203's kick-ass streaming functionality. BTW isn't top of the line Monster cables a bit of a non sequitur?

Nothing wrong with Monster cables. They're usually high quality, but just way overpriced.

When Oppo said no streaming, I'm pretty sure they were referring to streaming APPS like Netflix, etc...
It's likely they will have local streaming capabilities I would think, but we won't know for sure until Oppo
puts out some kind of spec list at or before release.

I would wager a guess with the OP's audio issue with Panasonic is likely related to an authoring issue,
or maybe even some kind of copy protection like Cinavia (?).

If the oppo 103 player can stream perfect mkv files with the dts master audio or the truehd audio then it's not an authoring issue. Player copyright sounds more like it.

The information available in Australia on the 203 and streaming states:

"the player can serve up PCM, AIFF, ALAC, FLAC and WAV audio up to 384kHz/32-bit, multi-channel DSD64/128 and even two-channel DSD256. The player also supports Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for a fully immersive experience." and

"DLNA/SMB media streaming"

I think it's definitely going to be able to stream files over a network, just like the current 10x series of players. It has been stated that there will be no streaming apps for services like Netflix.

Panasonic did not provide robust software for mkv playback.

I've had a couple Panasonic players. They are really finicky and unpredictable in terms of what they play. For example, my Panasonic TV would play mkv even though the neither of the two Panasonic blu ray players I had would. Hence my interest in the Oppo.

Thank you chhanthony for the screen shots! Shows me exactly what I wanted to know, that we can manually select 10 bits for our 10 bit panels. That alone makes it a buy for me.

Interesting that the Home screen in photo 7 of post #2716 above shows streaming apps including Netflix and Vudu. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to be able to stream 4K material, they could be the same apps as in the 10x series players and limited to 1080p streaming content until a firmware update at some future date but I was not expecting to see any streaming apps on the Home screen given Oppo's earlier comment that they were focussing on disc playback at this stage.

Yes, very interesting. To me this suggests that streaming apps will likely come later down the road. Or it could be that they are present at launch but limited to 1080p just as you say.

Time will tell..

The original page seems obsessed with before and after photos of the remote, so I suspect you are right. They might be showing the "before" (103) and "after" (203) Home pages.

Keep in mind that doesn't mean that the poster is testing any specific product.
