Oh well, will have to wait until someone sends in their serial # to get the list of options. Unless of course the selection varies based upon your account (I'm assuming you have to create a sonypicturesstore account as part of the registration) which would actually be a nice touch for those that already have a bunch of titles in their account.

for god sake just tell us how is picture quality comparing other 4k players. That's it !

18 pages in this tread talking about 2020 or SDR , BT. 709 , projectors, apps and other options that only minority of customers care about.

Just call Sony or get that info from web if you need.

First and most important thing for us is to know video ( 4K ) and audio quality of this product.

I'll assume you're not joking and bet you $10 that picture quality wise it will look like all the rest of the players with maybe a split hair's worth of difference...

My preorder placed on 2/14 HS shipped and will arrive on the 27th.

But the order I placed for store pickup that was originally scheduled for today has been bumped to 3/2.

They don't say you can't get the free movies even if you return the player. Which is likely the case for me.

Try the hidden menu.

While playing a 4K Bluray

Or/and while playing a Bluray

Hit the options button on the remote.

I have all my blu ray movies on hard drives that are 4 tb or higher, will this player have a problem with them? I was contemplating getting the Samsung because I was told it works with big drives, but this player looks pretty sweet.

Amazing build quality in my opinion. It's whisper quiet compared to the Xbox one s I had. The picture seemed a bit more vibrant compared to the One S but that might just be placebo. If I'm told it'll look nicer then it'll seem that way to me type of thing. I love the on screen info it tells you during the movies. Gonna watch hacksaw ridge on it right now. Question tho, do I leave deep color output off?

Just ordered one of these from Amazon.

Any idea when we can expect more of these to ship? Any place to order from to get one sooner rather than later?

I don't think its placebo at all. That was the first thing I thought after watching half of Hacksaw Ridge on the XB1S and then finishing in the X800. The audio is also more full sounding being bit streamed to my receiver. Glad to finally see the Dolby Atmos logo popping up on the info screen.

I'm going to be going through a bunch of discs on Tuesday/Weds to do some A/B comparisons.

I've had my unit since Friday morning but have it hooked up to my 1080p Sony 65S990a (Triluminous x.v.Color).

I'm pretty sure the Sony W900a does not support bt.2020 or DCI-P3 color spaces, Just BT.601, BT.709, and BT. 709 wide x.v.Color (xvYCC).

http://www.soundandvision.com/conten...brate-my-tv-it

I have not found a way to get this player to convert to x.v.Color. UHD titles on the 1080p display look almost identical to the included 1080p24 Blu-ray. There is a realtime slider allowing you to adjust dynamic range conversion for SDR displays from 1-5 (default 3), hitboptions on the remote in movie. The conversion is nothing to write home about, with 5 negatively affecting some skin tones.

Yes, there is a setting to allow 24p of streamed content. Default was off on mine.

I believe this player is the fastest loading UHD player on the market, blowing away the Panasonic. It truly is lightning fast! Unfortunately it uses the same tired DLNA network browser they've been using since the PS3 and their first standalone Blu-ray players.

Thank you for the feedback. I would love to purchase this player but I have several external hard drives with all my movies and they are all higher than 2 tbs. if you have a big hard drive, could you try it and see if the player recognizes it? I would really appreciate your feedback.

That's good to hear it's quiet and good build. I am interested in this player also. I believe deep color setting is for HDR, leaving it off will disable it. I could be wrong though.

Bestbuy shows I can get an x800 on 2//28 with one day shipping. 3/1 with two day. And 3/2 with in store pickup.

I'm waiting for them to show up in store before I get one. At least that is what I keep telling myself. I might just order one sooner for in store pickup since I'm anxious to try out the X800 and compare it to my Samsung UHD BD player.

That would be unusual. Deep color on typically enables 12bit output. The discs and HDR are 10bit. This is how it works with my Sammy UHD BD player anyway.
Plus some displays have issues with 12 bit. And have banding. so if you can't have 10bit output it can cause issues for some people's setups.

Anyone having audio sync issues? I have an older receiver. It won't pass 4K HDR. So I'm feeding it audio via the second HDMI output on the player while HDMI 1 feeds my projector.

The receiver is getting a signal and displays the proper audio format (Dolby TruHD etc) but the audio is VERY early.

I've tried setting a delay in my receiver and in the player with the receiver delay turned off but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions?

I've tried setting a delay in my receiver and in the player with the receiver delay turned off but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions?

One thing you can try is setting the Audio to PCM or Bitstream and vice-versa. I can't remember which is which but I think you want the UHD player to encode instead of your older Receiver ( I THINK ) that's how its suppose to work, as I had the same issue with the Sammy player. Try both ways and see if it makes a diff. Is the issue on a UHD disc?
