Is there a way to play dvds and or interlaced blurays at 4k60? It always defaults to 30p at 4k and the frames look very bad. They have "judder" and look uneven. There is only an option for 4k that simply says "4K", no option for screen refresh rate. I have an up to date hdmi cable and set the hdmi to "enhanced" on the tv. Any help would be appreciated.

A bit of an update. The player can upscale interlaced content at 1080p60. I would really like the player to scale to 4k60 because it looks a bit better than the tv. Can anyone confirm this player can upscale interlaced content to 4k at 59/60hz? I would feel better knowing either it doesn't or if there is an option I've been overlooking. I've tried literally every upscale and screen resolution combination.

Another update, it seems sending a 30p signal to the tv is tied to the video being 29.97 fps, not being interlaced. I played a non interlaced video at 29.97 fps and it still sent a 30p signal. Does anyone know if there is an option to disable 30p within the player? Anything at 29.97 fps is unwatchable on this player. It sends the correct signal at 23.976 fps. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you set 4K upscaling to AUTO2, it should change from 1080/60 to 4K/60. Everything else should be set to AUTO as well.

Thanks for the reply. I tried Auto with everything as well as manually selecting 4K, auto1 and auto2. It upscales 24p content correctly. Is there any way someone can check a dvd or 29.97fps file and see if it displays as 2160p60? Then I will set it to 1080p60 when watching 30p content or just stick with madvr+mpc for dvds. I only got this to have a simple all-in-one type player, but this one issue is really annoying. I would have never thought a current player would have such an issue playing dvds. Not that big a deal, but that takes away from the "simple" aspect of things because I need to change the resolution every time I watch dvds/interlaced/30p content. Thanks again for the reply.

Good morning all
I am still in 55vt30 plasma and JVC HD1 video projector, so both are Full HD and not 4K
I plan to take the sony 800m2 ou panasonic 420/820 to replace the panasonic bd500 (capricious platinum with beug)
UDH already render well in 1080p?
a significant gain against the 500 on full hd?
a special setting for downsampling from 4k to full hd?
the same video settings?
HDR conversion on 1080p with a 4K blu ray
thank you so much

Hopefully it's a batch thing then and my copy on order will work fine.
So I received my third copy of Predator 4k and it worked flawlessly. Huge relief it is not a player issue as I had started to worry. Big learning point for me to persevere with problematic discs before stressing about hardware.

I must be lucky. I've easily played over 400 UHD BDs in my x800 and they have all played fine.

How long does it take for your players disc tray to eject after pushing the eject button? On mine it takes about 3 seconds from pushing the button for the tray to open. Is this normal or is there something going on with my player? I've had it for about 3 months and it's been this way the whole time, I was just thinking yesterday though that it seems a bit slow compared to players I've had in the past.

Mine takes about that long also. I also have a Magnavox DVD recorder that does open faster initially compared to the Sony, but it is noisier and the tray moves slower. So each brand has their quirks I suppose.

Good to hear it's not just mine. It doesn't bother me, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue.
