Where do you see the build date?
It would be on the side of the box for sure, and maybe on the back of the player. Best buy had 4 different build dates and I got the only one from 11.2017. The rest were March, June, and August of 2017. I'm hoping the rattle was already resolved by November, but I got the extended warranty either way.

What's the advantage of 220.C over 207.C.

I unplugged my network cable after 207.C since I finally have Dolby Vision.

Weird, mine found it right out of the box. And I just bought mine this week.

Canada here.. Build date is December 2017.

Cant test if DV works since I still have my Sony TV and DV over HDMI is not supported. I have version 80207.C

I can test Saturday once I get my C7.

Does 80207.C support DV?

I’m also curious about this. I actually still have the version 123.C which definitely has the DV for disks and DV is constantly on for Netflix. I’m paranoid to update since I’ve waited a long time for the DV to come back haha. Anyone have an idea of what’s the advantage of the later versions?

And btw, mine finally started with the buzzing problems (July 2017 build). It does vary from disk to disk. The noise is tolerable for now and I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse, but it still bugs me that it happened. I actually got the Geek Squad service for the player from BB and i’m wondering if there’s anything they can do about it 🤔

Mine started humming in the last month too...yes, tolerable, but if it gets worse something will need to happen. June 2017 here.

What does your Geek Squad agreement say? If it says fix or replace, then there's your answer.

Now, I wonder if the noise issue has been resolved on later copies, and how long does it take before new unit to starts making the unwanted racket?

Wow! November build and it still makes the noise?!? I was hoping later builds wouldn’t have the issue.

Me too, as it is, I'm taking a wait and see attitude, even though I might miss out on the current sale.

I had an issue with my Sony x800 and had the BB 4 yr extended warranty. It kept shutting off randomly. Took it back to BB last weekend, they refunded all my money and extended warranty cost to a BB gift card. It's how I got this player.

I keep seeing people say 207.C supports DV. I just bought mine with a Nov build date, but the update available to me here in the US was 220.C and it definitely has DV. Could be a regional thing, not sure, just speculating.

Any suggestions on how to improve signal strength of the remote? It runs on a single AAA battery and is just horrid. Unless I point directly at the player it rarely recognizes my clicks. That plus the drive noise is making me consider returning it, which I hate to do given the good price right now.

Don't know. I have so many devices in my setup I use a Harmony Remote. No problems with signal strength.

My guess is you could probably get an IR extender though.

I have a IR repeater and could not find the IR port. No mention of it in the manual either. But then I noticed the power light doubles as the IR port when I send commands to it. It pulses. Very weird. So I gave up.

Just got mine so far so good. One question though where the hell is the IR reciever window? I have mine in a cabinet but I can't run the Blaster to it because I don't know where the sensor is.

HDMI2 audio output not working on AV receiver

Just hooked up new UP970 to Vizio M65 tonight. Got video to play just fine but can't get audio from HDMI2 output to work on my Onkyo SR876 AV receiver. I have output of HDMI2 jack on UP970 going to HDMI input on AV receiver. What's weird is that if I change the input on the Vizio to some other HDMI input, I can hear the audio from the HDMI2 jack on my AV receiver. But as soon as I switch the Vizio input to the UP970, the audio stops outputting to the receiver.

What are the proper audio output settings for the UP970 so it will play via the HDMI2 connection to my receiver when the Vizio input is selected the UP970? I'm at my wit's end trying to debug this audio issue.

Help!!

You have to go into the settings of the UP970 and tell it to play the audio using only HDMI2. Also You may have to turn off HDMI-CEC on your TV and receiver, it can cause issues with the dual HDMI out on the UP970.
Finally, when I was using the same setup before I upgraded my receiver, I had to reseat the HDMI cables to the TV once every 4th or 5th movie.

UP970 is set to HDMI2. Found an earlier post for someone else that had an Onkyo receiver which said to remove the HDMI Main output cable from the receiver to the TV. That did the trick. Why the HDMI output interfered with the HDMI input handshake signal, I have no idea. You would think HDMI board would keep input and output paths separate. Alas, at least in the Onkyo, that's not the case.

Since my DirecTV DVR and UP970 are connected directly to the TV, there's really no reason for me to have HDMI Main output from receiver connected to the TV. That would only be for when I need to display signal from Panasonic DVD recorder, or old Sony VCR, neither of which are used much, if at all anymore. Receiver properly displayed 7.1 DTS Master Audio of most recent Star Wars movie. 4K HDR content from Youtube on UP970 is simply outstanding.

Does it mean that if I have an atmos soundbar that is ARC connected to C7 HDMI2 - I could pass atmos to it from other HDMI port on the TV if the device that is connected uses DD+?

Also will I be able to pass any audio to the soundbar from my cable TV that will be connected on other TV HDMI?

Thank you for your help.

DV Not Working

Morning All,

Newbie here. Just got a UP970, Jan. 2018 build, 80220.C.

Plug it into my Vizio P-65, play Transformers The Last Knight and Spiderman Homecoming. Both play great in 4k, but indicates HDR10. Doesn't seem to play in Dolby Vision. I tried messing with settings, but to no avail.

Any thoughts why they are not playing in DV? Am I missing something? I have longer HDMI cables, so I thought it may be a cable issue. However, its seems to play great in HDR10. If it was a cable issue, wouldn't there be issues with HDR10 as well?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Got UP970 too, Jan,2018 build, still in the box, waiting for 18Gbps HDMI cable and couple of UHD disks to test with (Blue Planet II in HDR 10 and Earth: One Amazing Day in DV)

A few questions:

1. Is DV update still available or they pulled it again?
2. Have they fixed Netflix app that forces DV all the time on all the titles?
3. A little worried about the noise, I thought in newer builds it's fixed but apparently not (per Ruppgu statement, Nov, 2017 build). Are the players "noisy" from the beginning or they develop it later?
4. Should I go with Philips BDP7502 instead?

Thanks

Apparently they are playing around with the updates. They released 80220.C and pulled it. It was said that this update fixed the Netflix force DV. The noise is there. Go with the Philips.

I bought mine from BB with a 4 yr warranty. No worries that way. If mine rattles, I'll just keep exchanging it till they get it right. DV is worth it, especially over the Phillips. I'm sure the Lg upscales better than the Phillips for regular blurays too.
