There are two setting called V. Center and Vertical size that allow you to adjust the picture to see the subtitles. I've never used them because I have a 16:9 screen but I'll switch the projector to 2:35 tonight and try it and post back this evening.

OK so I found it in the player. You have to go into "video setting" while a disc is playing and then you can move the subtitle text up and down. You can move the subtitles from the bottom to the near the middle of the screen so you can raise them 32% of screen height.

Here's a few pics from Blade Runner 2049 which is 2:35. You can raise the titles from the bottom of the screen up to 32% and even drop them off the screen if you wanted to.

To answer my own question ... I've tested playback of some mkv files from a powered desktop hard drive connected to the rear USB 3.0 port. The player has the latest firmware. The files are encoded with TrueHD Atmos 7.1 and DTS-HD MA 5.1. This player will not output audio from them. The video plays fine, but no changes in the audio settings menu would allow any audio ouput from these files, lossy cores or otherwise. Again, this is over USB. The player has no problem outputting these same audio files from a disc losslessly.

The UB200 as a jpeg photo viewer. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have been looking at 4k media players/streamers and 4k blu ray players and the Panasonic 4k players are the only devices I have found that actually call out photo slideshow as an option in the manual. They also specifically call out repeat as a function I need among other options. They do indicate that the files have to meet a specific structure to work but then don't indicate what that is!! I assume they may be referring to a standard file naming sequence in a DCIM folder which is a standard camera structure but??

Also I want actual 4k resolution in a reasonable rendering time. They make no mention of that in the manual. My basic question is will the UB200 work as a jpeg 4k photo slideshow viewer when connected to a 4k TV and a USB thumb drive? Has anyone used it for a 4k slideshow?

I'm moving up to 4k from my Oppo so I can get the Atmos tracks . My question is does the Panny output Hdmi lossless and optical lossy at the same time ?
