Blu-ray player outputs to 4K HDR TV and 1080p Projector at the same time
I really would appreciate if anybody can help with this challenge.
I have bought a new Oppo 203 UHD blu-ray player and I want to be able to run it on both my JVC HD950 (1080p) projector, but also on a new Loewe Bild 5 OLED TV (4K HDR) In this setup The TV also contains the surround decoder; Loewe has built in surround decoder, so the TV always needs to receive a signal from the blu-ray player just to make the sound running, when the projector is in use.
Using a HDMI bi-direction switch will give me no sound when I’m using the projector, because the TV I disconnected from the HDMI chain.
Using a HDMI splitter gives another problem; it will bring the resolution down to 1080, because the projector is only 1080 in resolution which is the lowest in the HDMI chain, meaning that it’s never possible to run a 4K HDR signal on the TV.
The only idea I can come up with is to use a splitter as described and also use a bi-direction HDMI switch between the projector and splitter, just to switch off the HDMI signal to the projector so when I’m using the TV, the projector can’t see the rest of the chain and not be able to pull down the resolution.
Hope I have make myself clear enough and someone know if this will work at all, or maybe there are other better ways to solve this HDMI challenge.
