Is that normal?

That’s normal generally the retail division is separate from manufacturing. Retail “buys” via invoice just like other stores.

Not sure what you mean buy retail “buys” via invoice like other stores. VE and B.B. don’t buy directly from the factory.

Not really normal due to a disconnect between some departments, BUT they should ship out early sept. They are going through a warehouse change right now were that product is sourced out of.

My AV dealer emailed me today that the 820 and 420 were now in stock.

So i grabbed a 420 on the way home, did the firmware update, so far the sound and PQ is quite good on my 82 inch NU8000 Samsung TV

Going to try and watch 4K Predator some time this week.

Folks, I'm looking for a local (Miami) Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray distributor to buy a couple of these new units and resell to our customer as we do with a hundred thousand other things. I can't seem to get Panasonic Bulk Orders, Marketing, Chat or Sales to give me an answer nor I have been able to find one by searching the Net. Does anyone know or has a Panasonic telephone number I can call to get answers. Obviously, there is a retail distribution channel, but I as most low voltage contractors here, I do not buy most products for obvious reasons. My local Distributors AVAD, DOW Electronics, Blue Star, etc.., only distribute Panasonic TV's.

Panasonic Canada Support show models 300, 400, 820, 900, 9000. Are you sure the 420 was sold in Canada?

Panasonic DP-UB420K vs DP-UB820 Blu-ray Players

Anyone know what the differences between the 420 and 820 are? From what I can see all appears the same except for the 7.1 analogue outs.

If that is the only difference would it be better to get the 420 over the 820 for use with a JVC RS500 front projector or not?

Also anyone know when the 420 will be available for sale? Says new on the Canada panny website but would be nice to know when it will be available for purchase.

I think the 820 supports Dolby Vision and HDR while the 420 supports HDR only...

I was actually also wondering if the 420 would be good enough in combination with my Sony projector (since projectors don‘t support Dolby Vision anyway).

Beyond that - are there any other major differences?

Purchased a 420 off eBay for a silly price (unwanted gift). I have to say this is a dream machine. Completely silent in operation. Build quality is excellent. Plays BDs and UHDs beautifully and works in total harmony with my Epson 9400 projector. I had no need for the 820. Only criticism is that the startup or when changing from BD to Netflix for example is a tad slow.

Projector: Epson EH-TW9400UB | Screen: 135" | HDTV: LG 50PH660V 3D Plasma | BD Players: Panasonic DP-UB420EBK | Pioneer BDP-450 (ABC) | Receivers: Denon AVR-X4400H & Denon PMA 520AE | Speakers: Jamo S636 HCS 7.0 & Onkyo SKH-410 x4 | Subwoofer: Wharfedale Diamond SW150 |
