Heard that kind of thing from manufacturers before. I'd be more concerned that they still haven't fixed the tone mapping issue and owners are starting to lose hope. That alone is the kind of thing that doesn't exactly inspire confidence among owners and why I was more than happy to pass on my 203 to a buddy of mine.
Oppo has stated recently that there's never going to be a correction for the tone mapping issue, so you can put a fork in that.
