As much as I'm really looking forward to a Pioneer UHD BD Player (I had considered a Panasonic, at first) I can't help but wonder about its internal values and craftmanship.
IIRC the last genuine Pioneer BD Player had been the LX88 in 2015.
Both the announcements of Panasonic and Pioneer seem to be the result of the vacuum left by Oppo's departure.
Does Pioneer still have the necessary Know-How and research capability to now make an outstanding UHD BD player or will the UDP-LX500 rather feature technology from a third party (Panasonic?) but inside a casing that appeals to Pioneer aficionados such as myself?
These are things I would really like to know before I purchase this UHD BD Pioneer player later this year (but of course stay optimistic for the time being).
its a good question frank. I dont really know anymore what this "pioneer" company really is anymore. its a brand name which has sort of morphed over the years. not sure could answer your questions to be honest...
not like pioneer really has any cred in the uhd player market anyways. this would be a 1st effort... and likely expecting us to hand over a lot of cash to find out what it is all about
time will tell. time will answer all I suppose...
