Then definitely the 820.
That's what I suspected, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Not sure if this has been posted but here is some interesting information on the LX800. Looks to be quite a well built player. Hope it gets released in the US.

According to Robert Zohn of Value Electronics, the LX800 will not be released in the US.

That's too bad! I would have liked to have compared the LX800 to the 205 but that's not likely.

So is it confirmed that the LX800 does not have 7.1 analogue audio outs?
Looks like it is just stereo to me?

My pleasure. I heard the same rumblings. The link below which I posted yesterday shows the rear panel of the LX800.

Forgot to mention the price in my place, it is less than or about USD900 which is higher than OPPO 203. Anyway I consider the price is reasonable for a player that can play most if not all kinds of discs. Just like music, everyone has its preference. Someone may find this Pioneer player better than others while some may not.

Go and try it yourself to see if it is your cup of tea.

In comparison with 203, it is larger and heavier. It is much slower in opening and closing of the drawer but quiter. It takes longer to read the blu-ray/UHD disc. In combination with a new Pioneer AV amp, it has the benefit of Pioneer's PQLS, the sound is clearly distinguisable from those of 203. Which sounds better depends on one's preference.

Tested it for a couple of hours, picture quality is good but seems softer than 203 and need longer hours of A/B comparison to confirm which suits my preference more.

One notable difference is that DV is a little bit brighter with 500 than 203.
Since you seem to be the first with the player, why not start the Official Owner's Thread?

Well I would be willing to pay that . I’m still waiting ,as my dealer says the Panasonic 9000 should be available in October, and he quoted me at about $1250 Canadian. That’s probably going to be similar to the pioneer then ,and I’d sooner have the Pioneer .
From what I’m hearing , I believe the American version has the amber display though . Sure would have preferred the blue like in the UK ,as my Anthem is blue

Update .Sorry I thought you were referring to the 800 . I didn’t know pioneer had another 4K player. It’s not on the .ca site ,but I see the 500 on the pioneer.com site for $1100.
Is your display amber ?
Maybe I can get a 500 sent from Spokane Washington

LG OLED65B7P.
Anthem AVM60 , Anthem MCA525 .
Panasonic DP-UB820 UHD player .
Paradigm Studio CC690 V5 centre channel , Studio 100 V5’s front and rear . Paradigm PW-2200 subwoofer

Anyone else get this yet and can post some impressions? It’s been available on Amazon for a couple of weeks. I’m sure someone has taken the plunge.

4:4:4 is the one we are all using for UHD discs. 4K Bluerays are 10 bits. 12 bits cause moire effects. This is because almost all TV panels are 10 bits.

I use my old Oppo 95's two channel analog outs for music to a headphone amp. I'd be interested in your impressions of the two channel analog presentation of the pioneer. I'd use it the exact same way.

When you combine the high number of returns with the prices generally lower; you understand why many companies sell their high end products in the EU and Asia, but not in the USA...
