I'm looking to get the new Pioneer 95 Blu-Ray player. Currently I have a Toshiba HD player and receive True HD & DD+ via the analog-outs of the player into the external-in jacks of my Denon pre/pro. I don't have HDMI inputs yet as I don't have HDMI inputs on my rear-projectin HDTV. (I believe you cannot separate audio & video from HDMI by 'breaking the chain' so I have to get new pre/pro & TV before I can use HDMI, yes?) So until I step up to the 60"+ plasma I want, what is the best audio I can derive via the analog outs of this blu-ray player? Can un-compressed PCM be delivered via analog outs??

Thanks much!

-Mike

Uncompressed PCM, DD+, TrueHD, & DTS-HD HR can be delivered by the Pioneer via it's analog outputs.

Basically, whatever the player can decode internally can be sent via analog outputs. The Pioneer only sends DTS-HD MA via bitstream so if you select that mode while using the analog outputs you will only get the 1.5mb core, even that sounds pretty good.

Making the most out of what I got.

That's the answer I was hoping for, thanks! Now where's my checkbook?? :-)
