Looks nice so far...could use a few more pics and some layout mock-ups.  Where are you putting the kitchenette and bar?  Would those go in that area behind the TV and desk?

Here are some pics of the bar/kichenette area I need to finish up, I'm planning on floating shelves and backsplash, open for some suggestions, prob small sticky stone with no grout lines, but a thin profile to get receptacles in and covers on. Solid surface counter top in a solid color to match slate floors,
Made room for full size frig, and dishwasher.

Bar will go under pendants and will be a piece of furniture instead of a built-in

Here are 2 pieces we are thinking to finish out space. Cool thing about bar is it can be moved off to the side and be used as a buffet for larger parties.

I will see if i can find my floor plan and add later
Any suggestions welcome

Can you use the same slate-looking tiles you used in the bathroom for the backsplash, but smaller?  The only issue would be whether that would be too dark in that space.  Or, you could go with a lighter stone look.

Looks nice so far.  Nice work by the wife on the bathroom tiles.  Looks like a very nice space.

Thanks for the thoughts, I agree it needs to be slate to tie into floors and stay with the rustic look we where going for like this example, I have always been concern about getting outlets in, we did fur them out for tile tile.http://www.norstoneusa.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/680x410/Power%20Outlet%20on%20Backsplash.jpg
